I like almost everything about this - the shapes, composition, the modeling of the forms, the features, the interpretation, the design etc..
The one thing that I would pick at is the saturation of the background. It's too rich, so it jumps to the fore. Instead of supporting the subject it competes with it (and too successfully). I would desaturate the background green so that it stays in the background. At the same time I would punch up (saturate) the figure to bring it forward to the viewer.
Things that are far are seen through a denser layer of atmospheric compared to things that are close, which are seen more clearly and directly. That is the principle of aerial perspective (aka the atmospheric effect).
If you desaturate the background green, the green of the eyes will shine even more intensely than it does and the subtle, delicate color of the head and neck will show more effectively even if you don't saturate them.
