Well done! I like your rough yet detailed style on this drawing, especially in the bottom right corner: one the one hand, you have a very detailed tentacle, but on the other, you have some loose, wild marks that don't form coherent shapes. You have a very interesting concept, and all of your perspective looks right to me. The composition is nice except I am a little bothered by the octopus' head being right in the center of the drawing. One way to make the drawing really pop is to thicken lines in the foreground to bring the tentacles forward. Similarly, darkness brings your drawing forward, whereas lightness sends it back, the reverse of your composition. If you need to put lightness in the foreground, you can use contrast between light spots and either thick lines or the darkness of any shadows. Overall, you've done a wonderful job, but there is always room for improvement! e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="

I always loved this kind of rough pencil approach to drawing but was always scared to try it because it always felt like it was easy to ruin your drawing if you weren't careful. That being said, you seem to have done a pretty good job with this. I love how the squid is so pale, and the use of crosshatching to lend its tentacles a real geometric quality. That shading behind the animal, with the rocks and the sky is so hard and rough that it contrasts nicely. At the same time, you've used some finer lines for the suckers and the creatures brow ridge and its eyes. I can tell where the animal begins and ends amidst the background for the most part. The penciling feels pretty cohesive and nothing really sticks out or feels incongruous.
Plus, I love Octopuses. Very intelligent animals, or scary if you read Lovecraft.

A good study. I don't know if octopi eyes have that exact shape but either way you managed to make its eyes look a little angry which adds to the tension of the image. A well executed pencil drawing!

This looks like an illustration in a Victorian adventure novel, or something 20,000 Leagues-ish.

I like it! You captured the octopus really well and made the tentacles seem just as squirmy as they really are The shading is really well done too, you made a great job with the "rough" pencil strokes!

This drawing is amazing, I especially like the shading to the left behind the octopus, like cave walls and they tell a compelling story, the many faces. I really love this!

Octopi both fascinate and frighten me, I blame the miss use of tentacles in certain literature. But the anatomy here is so life like.

Octopi generally frighten me, I blame the kraken, but still I can appreciate a good sea drawing and this is just that
