the grainy-ness of this really gives it a feeling of the past. I seems like it could be from many different eras.

this is amazing... so classic...
keep up the good work with these. I am always fond of models NOT looking at the camera. if you can catch them in the seconds BETWEEN the photos, those always seem to be the best for me.

Thank you for you kind comments! They are very appreciated. I feel honored. I have so many good pics of Heather from this shoot that I had a hard time picking which ones to post up.
If you have any advice on lighting, I would love to hear it. That's what I have the most trouble with.

mt thing with lighting is... the more natural, the better. I find that my favourite shots are always near a window when bright sun is streaming in, and I have my shutter set up around 500 - 2000. it catches shadows snd helps natural forms stand out. the darker it is, and the longer the shutter is open, the more apt the picture is to become grainy or blurry... which in some cases is ok, you know, but it depends on the feel you are going for. sometimes a diffused lightbulp, or a near shade can do well. i do not get fancy with my lighting... i like tripods and whatever light is happening naturally around the shot that I am inspired by. but i don't do a lot of staged photos, they are more split second instinct.
