Description 'Down here, they ALL float, Georgie...'

I present you with three facts.

1.)Tim Curry is scary.

2.)Clowns are scary.

3.)Tim Curry dressed as a clown, is absolutely terrifying.

Don't get me wrong, I love Tim Curry, but no matter how many times I see 'Clue' or 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show', on some level, I'm seeing him as I first did, as Pennywise the Clown.

I was five or six, and staying at my neighbor Abby's house and her mom turned on the movie 'It'. See, she was one of those cool moms who let her little kid watch horror movies on network t.v. and my mom...well, let's just say that before that night, the scariest thing I had ever been permitted to see was 'Ernest Scared Stupid' (Ironic that I was allowed to watch that one, considering that's the only movie that's EVER given me nightmares, I still can't bear to watch it to this day!).

I sat in Abby's living room, and just stared at the t.v. I watched with a sort of sick facination, disgusted, scared, amused and intrigued all at once. I liked this new genre of film that was being presented to me, and thus began the obsession with horror.

From there on in, instead of borrowing movies like 'Bambi' and 'Snow White' from friends and family members, I begged to be allowed to watch 'Nightmare On Elm Street', 'Deadly Friend' and anything else that had a ghoulish picture on the cover. I didn't get to, of course, but the thirst was there. As soon as I could read, I started to spend alot of time in the horror section of the video store or library, reading the backs of video cases trying to imagine just what the film that case held would be like to watch.

The fact that my growing interest in the genre went against my mother's grain only made it more appealing...I liked being able to mention a movie title that I wanted to see and watch her eyes get big as saucers.

What can I say, I was a mean kid...that and she really needed to loosen up, which she has, over the years, not to the point where she'll watch horror movies with me (with the express exception of the Evil Dead series, mostly 'cause she loves Ash just as much as I do) but she understands the attraction to the genre now and leaves me to it.

Alright..so if you're still reading this far down into the description, you deserve a cookie, cause this is probably the longest one I've ever written.

On to more technical stuff, he's got his little balloon, the newspaper boat and stands as the only emote in the series thus far to get a background of some sort. It's a sewer grate with rainwater. He's also the only one who doesn't come with blood o.o!! I picked this scene, because it's my favorite in the movie, and in the book. If you've read the book and haven't seen the movie, go rent it, and if you've seen the movie, and haven't read the book, go read it.

I was convinced to do a series of Horror movie inspired emoticons by 'cause she loved the Freddy Krueger one so much. More will come along some time, as I get inspired. I'm hoping to eventually do all my favorite Horror film icons and a few that I don't like for a nice little rounded out collection.

Rofl, thank you! I wracked my brains for a really long time trying to remember what color that balloon was (haven't seen the movie in quite a few years), I'm glad I got it right! Thanks for the fave as well, hope you liked the other emotes too

Yes, yes I do! I just have this weird thing with creepy guys from horror movies.....especially guys in masks for some reason.....

Hm..that seems to be a common thing with people I know. Everyone goes for the sick twisted freak in a mask XD

O.O Myself included...

I think some pshychiatrist somewhere should do a paper on it...'Teenage girls and their love for horror movie murderers:What does it all mean?!'

Bloody brilliant! Actually, I think the dangerous and alluring mystery of who or what could be behind the mask has something to do with it.

The Phantom.

V (from V for Vendetta)

Jason

Michael Meyers

Hell, even the predator was kinda sexy....

And every superhero/villan that has ever worn a mask:

SEEEEEEEXY.

Except for the Green Goblin. I could do without him.

rofl..strange, I actaully liked the Green Goblin...not in the fangirly 'I want to glomp him so hard right now' way, but he was an interesting nut job to watch on screen.

True..it's always about the dark mysterious guy, isn't it? We 're always going after the potentially dangerous just because it's unknown...curiousity slaughtered the kitty....

I never really dug Micheal Myers though...just...I could never get past the spraypainted William Shatner mask.

Call me shallow, but there it is

I have a thing for V, actually.

This is great!! First time I saw this movie, I lost it after he said the line about floating ("Down here, you'll float too" I think). Anyway, I love the emotes - good job!
