Description
It started off as a random doodle of her in that random pose. Then I kept drawing... and this came out, and I decided to color it and add a BG.I guess the fanboys can use a little pin up once in a while.

SSSSSSo glad everybody walked out of my room before I loked at this one.
Not the worst thing to come up when you parents are in the room, but still scary. D8
I really like the colours and lighting by the way!

It makes me happy when I see female characters that have body shapes closer to my own c: Most people seem to draw females as a 'perfect' hourglass figure, with next to no 'meat' on their bones, but when you see girls in reality, they're not all that so-called 'perfect' shape. Pear, banana, apple, and all other shapes can all be beautiful too!
Overall, this is a very nice picture, especially since you said it started as a random doodle! [Although I will say that that swimsuit she's wearing looks like it'd give her a massive wedgie since it's so high in the back But that's aside the point!] You are very good at cell shading, and the background is simple, yet it works with the piece :3

Why whenever someone sees a girl whose body is not thin call her fat immediately? there is a happy medium between thinness and fatness.
This is a fat person:

So why's her hip and ass one body part? You need a clearer definition for the hips and ass, as well as her torso is too short. I could understand if she was leaning toward me but she isn't, at least if you were trying to go for that it doesn't look right. As well as the swimsuit design, it looks rather painful, almost as if it's pulling up into her crotch. Otherwise the coloring is really nice, as usual. But there is some work needed to be done with her anatomy.

Legs actually do look like that when a woman, especially one with full thighs stands like that, just look up some reference pictures and you'll be able to see it for yourself. As for her torso that's not really true: [link]
Women with a pear figure just look like that, and to this we add the fact she isn't tall, but even if she was tall I think it wouldn't make much of a difference. ouo
Hm well that's an actual and common cut for swimsuits, and if you pay attention the cloth looks a little baggy around the crotch area, with the intention to show it's not insanely tight, but I guess that depends more on the viewers POV, so it's fine, we can agree to disagree on it.
About the coloring, well thank you.
And thanks for your critique.

Well I did look up pear shape, and I got many varied results. But I did have my room mate pose for me and I put it over the picture here [link]
The picture you used as an example was rotated and not a good enough comparison, considering it was a different pose, as well as rotated to fit your picture.
Here I found another example of pear shape and put it over the picture
[link]
This is a different pose I know, but it still seems off, kinda like the example you used, her ass and hips should still have some sort of distinct separation and that they are not the same thing.
Here are some suggestions I have for the piece. Obviously you don't have to take the advice, but this is what I think.
[link]
I really like your headshots though, you have great expressions and I like how you draw them. I just think your bodies need more work is all.

Hmm well your friend is posing differently though, and I can't tell here, really but she seems like she might have narrow hips, but here's something for you to check out a reference of a woman leaning to the side the way Priss is. [link] One obviously can't compare every single drawing to the same anatomy model, but these ones here are pretty "neutral" so they work just fine, Priss is only a little fuller in her legs and ass but it works. So, you can see there. It's the same pose her hips have.
Uh well I didn't have to do that, you can see it here more clearly: [link]
This is mainly to show that her torso is not that short and that people in real life can look like that. Nothing else. There's also how her above average breasts create an optical illusion taking away quite a few centimeters from it.
That is an apple figure... just look at how shoulders are wider than hips. [link] and you shouldn't use pictures of heavy women as reference for someone who is not on the heavy side. Another: [link]
And here's someone leaning like your friend, same effect on her hip. [link] (Also, Nani and Priss have the same kind of body, just with different breasts.)
I don't see how my example was off though. o-o It was pretty accurate to match Priss's kind of body. Try to imagine her with a flat chest on this.
I think if anything maybe her shoulders could use a little more width though, but given that this was a random speedpaint I don't think I'm gonna change anything since I should be working on my commissions. :3c
Thanks, and well as you can see I do look up my references and stuff. I also have a couples of friends who've actually studied anatomy at college and I usually get advice from them. I will be taking classes soon myself as I'm starting animation this Monday, so we'll see about that.
Thank you for you input nevertheless.

No offence but two things.
You've used some unfair examples because both images you used, both woman are a bit on the heavier side, so the result isn't the same. And your friend is leaning over, which Priss isn't doing in this image.
And in anime, most art is not in proportion, so it doesn't matter that greatly.
And, seeing that you are a girl, feel were you hips and bum join. It should be just smooth, because the bum is just a huge muscle attached to your hip bones. Anyway, her backside can't be seen in this image anyway.
I don't want to start an arguement, but I am just pointing these things out. And you might want to study the difference between overweight woman and 'ideal' weight woman shapes before you question others.

XxXRit-chanXxX is rigt, who have pear shape, can't look like this. Maximum if she have half-eaten pear xD The hourglass figure have this thin waist. My friend have pear shape too and she has a little excess weight on her body, so Prissy should looks like her. I looked the picture what Bitter-Cherry used to this drawing, and the woman who's on it, she have hourglass figure with little excess weight : )

There is no noticeable difference in both your models dear, also you should've given them the right breasts to match Priss here. And she has wider hips than your example as well. =3o
Like I told Rit, if anything her shoulders should be wider but... I've talked it over and checked with people who've studied anatomy at college so I'm gonna go with what they tell me.

Are you an art major? The problem is I don't think you're right, and then again, like I said before both models you drew barely looked any different.
But here: [link]
That's from Winry's official character sheet, I drew over the picture to show her body and proportions and then I took it and edited from her banana figure to a pear figure, as you can see that IS, as a matter of fact, what you get from it.
...a lot of swimsuits just have that cut nowadays. Not that I personally like them but it looked nice.

One of the women showed up under the tag pear shaped in google, the same shape as Prissy. Two, my friend is a little curvy than I am so I used her as an example, mostly for the thighs. Also we can't tell what Priss might be doing in the pic, her torso is a little small showing she could be leaning forward so we tried to do something in between.
Whether or not it's anime, you should try to get proportions. Drawing in anime style is not a valid excuse.
Also, just because I am a girl means nothing, I have the body type of a twelve year old boy, I have no hips and I have no ass, in reality you can't compare my shape to hers or have me use my own ass as an example because I don't have one.

You show up on almost all of Priscy's recent pictures just vomiting things into the comments to make everyone think you're better than her or know more than her in one way or another...
Like ~loonamydragon, I don't want to start an argument here, I just...
I want to know why. I wonder why you feel the need to critique things she does in such an abstract and ultimately pointless way. It seems like you feel the need to make her feel like what she is drawing and how she is drawing it is wrong... Its HER style, let her draw it HER way...
Please tell me... Why do you bother posting comments full of this stuff? I see you've gone through a lot of effort with your pictures trying to hate on her one way or another... I want to know what your motives are...
What are you trying to prove?
What are you trying to accomplish here?
Really, do tell.

I mean, there are people who draw in different ways, and they look good, so why so much critique? he can critique if she really put a LOT of effort in the drawing but she did't.. so i don't see why the point in critisize a drawing that was actually made randomly!!

If you have neglected to notice, Priss and I communicate often regarding critique improvement and about keeping art thieves and copycat artists at bay.
I'm perfectly aware that it's her "style" but seeing as she is considered an FMA mock artist, her artistic ruling should go along the lines of that consistincy in FMA. I simply am asking and offering help in ways to make it more so in that style.
The art I have done of Priss is not of hate, I actually enjoy her character quite a bit since she is not a mary sue generically submitted character. If you paid more attention to said deviations the artist and I have talked about this.
Now, do please stay out of a conversation that doesn't involve you; especially when you are not up to speed of what it is regarding. It's not a pretty thing to do, attempting to pull other subjects into one that does not correlate.

Just because she is popularly known as an FMA mock artist, does not mean that everything she draws that is related to it should go along with the generic FMA style. You also seem to be not so much "asking and offering help" as you are giving her your "help" (used loosely) whether she likes it or not.
I also did not mean your "art", but rather the pictures you were posting in the comments comparing the drawing to other images that are clearly not Priss, and then alleging that since her body type is not the same as the two images you compared them to, it is wrong. (by the way, those images were almost nothing alike one another, your roommate picture comparison and the other pictures are completely different figures altogether, so should she listen to your "advice" she would fail one way or the other, because matching one, she would fail to match the other.)
Priscilla did not ask for a critique of any kind on this picture. Therefore there was really no need for you to go ahead and give her one. I have also noticed that on drawings in which she DOES ask for a critique, you seldom give her one. Only on the drawings that DON'T ask for one do you seem to feel the urge to post a "critique". So why is that?
