Watership Down has always been one of my favorite books.

This is my rendition of the spectral black rabbit who serves a grim reaper for bunnies. I went for straight-up horror here and had a blast creating this piece! A real naturally deceased rabbit skull is the foundation of the sculpt - I processed the skull myself and gave it a 'tea stain' to lend the bone a golden brown color and unique texture. The demonic rabbit is sculpted with a polymer clay blend down to the last detail: fur texturing, torn flesh, a spittle-covered tongue, glow-in-the-dark red eyes and a proper set of rabbit ears with a wire armature base. A hand-cut pine display stand was done in black and lettered with the character name in forest green.
