Don't feel bad if you don't recognize or remember Donna (who is definitely totally not actually Daniel in disguise), until now she's appeared in a total of two panels  and had exactly zero spoken lines.

Haha thanks, it was a good time, very cozy! Sorry for taking so long to respond to comments recently, but I really appreciate the well wishes!
I'm still trying to get confident with how I draw Donna. I like her outfit and everything, but I'm trying to do new stuff with facial features and everything to actually give people unique looks.

4th panel, Josiah looks like he's playing a slide guitar. *MUSICAL INTERLUDE!*

Haha funny you say that, because usually with everything I write, the type of music a character is into can be pretty important to how I develop them, however I've had more trouble figuring out what kind of music Joe is into than I usually do. I didn't want to do the "not into music" thing because I wanted to give him some interests outside of books and being sad. Long story short, deciding that he was born in 1976 on the last page and realizing he grew up in the 80's kinda made it all click, and I've actually figured out a super important element to his backstory based on one musician in particular. I won't get into it here because I think it's going to come up later, but as hint, the musician in question was in fact most prolific in the 80's, but unfortunately he was one of many incredible talents taken in 2016.

Anyway, I know that wasn't the point of your comment, but it seemed like a good excuse to touch on it.

You've given me a mystery now, so here I will list the musicians I think it could be.

Most Plausible
- George Michael
- David Bowie

Slightly less but still possible
- Maurice White   - Not specifically 80's but still influential enough to warrant investigation
- Glenn Frey         - Solo in the 80's
- Merle Haggard  - Probably not, but I think Josiah has a place in his heart for the sadness of country.

Surprisingly enough, you didn't actually mention the right one. I feel like telling you that though means it's kind of narrowed down though and now the answer is super obvious...

Sharon Jones - A little Soul Funk for your Josiah pleasure
Leonard Cohen
John Berry - Beastie Boys (Could Joe have have been so anti-establishment? Inconcievable)
Prince (Ok so it's probably this one and if not i'm missing someone really obvious)
Phife Dawg - A Tribe Called Quest (Probably not but a fun thought)
Frank Sinatra Jr. - I didn't even know this dude was alive let alone now dead,
