I got married 11 years ago. A couple years after that, we moved to a new city. In that new city, the first friend I made was this cute little orange cat. He would follow me around, pose for my camera, and even wait by the door in the mornings for me to come outside. Before this point of my life, I never really got to interact with cats because I lived with my mother who was highly allergic to them, so I didn't know if I enjoyed their company or if they would enjoy mine. This little fella taught me so much and answered so many questions.

I loved the way he would look up at me and stare into the camera. I was ecstatic when I captured that expression in this photograph.
