So I know it's unfinished mess and missing the last stage, when I just decided to crop it add contrast and forget about it, but I was asked to put it up so I do. Besides I thought it was kind of funny how it shows that I have no idea what I'm doing

Your baseline is soo sad looking, I am glad you lighten that up during the process but I am still uncertain about the final emotion convey there.

I would suggest to be conscious about what kind of emotions your Chara should express.
There is a huge tendency to let the subconscious inner shadow decide that aspect of the designs.

oooh, you meant it this way ^^' hm, that's actually very well put. although I kind of like the idea of my demons showing subconsciously through my drawings. I mean isn't art actually the only 'place' where your inner shadow could actually be um useful, for tha lack of better word? but I think I see where you're coming from, I shall be more cautious about what I do now. not to make jolly fellows look screwed up for life ^^ cause I suppose Ciri actually has every right to be sad after what the author puts her through.

I know that stand point where we perceive art as an arena to release the shadows, another artist I know used that art medium as a way to make some form of therapy but the initial intention was KNOWN and purposely CHOOSED.
What I observe here and in most of the many talented artist cases is a lack of awareness and responsibility regarding what we anchor visually and emotionally in this world, since art inspire our lives and influences our moods we can say that "letting the subconscious darkness express systematically" is not the way to manifest a world of peace , positive harmony.
Just look how systematically weapons, fighting scenery, "badass" attitudes are represented or perceive as "cool pieces of art".

Yes, although those are different layers not screenshots because that's how I tend to work. But anyway, you can use screenshots or maybe just save a file as JPG as you draw.

wiem, z tym że ja po prostu nie potrafię. Nie chce mi się babrać. Zawsze sobie mówię: "dobra, tym razem posiedzę dłużej, ma być ekstra". A potem wyjdę gdzieś za linię, widzę jakąś niedoskonałość i mam tylko takie: "okej, zajmę się tym, ale NAJPIERW..." I tak wychodzi że zapominam x'D

Ciri is such an awesome character! I like how your process shows that you keep on sketching while you already started with color. I think it's really nice that you're not afraid to go back some steps. I mean, for personal work it is always nice to completely enjoy the process even though it is not so much planned. Imho painting should always be about having fun instead of just working off steps 1,2,3,... . = )

She was certainly well build character, but I had some mixed feelings about her sometimes. Aw, thank you ;w; And you're so right, although I suppose it's almost inevitable to establish some method when you're doing something for years... sadly. It should always be about fun and trying new stuff because how can you know there isn't better way to do something if you haven't tried. I mean there's no better way to learn than by trial and error ^^ And planning is good for nothing, if you ask me. Things never come out the way you wanted anyway

Ha, sometimes Ciri was extremely cocksure of herself, I would say, but when she was in the desert, she really stole my heart!
Of course, there is nothing wrong with having a method, I just think sometimes it's influencing us too much and in worst case it can kill the fun and creativity. D:
