Description
The bautha z'hin style, which means "dodge and walk," relies on the natural agility and light armor the dark elves favor. The drow surround their foes and attack foes from all sides, and they use this style particularly against strange monsters with many attacks and a long reach. The style emphasizes dodging blows and high maneuverability, and practitioners of this style often learn the early elements of the orb alur style, bragging that they never are touched in a fight. Warriors of this style are usually paired with those using the z'ress a'thalak style, especially since the latter act as an anchor and the former position themselves to flank the enemy. This style is favored by drow rogues and fighter/rogues, as well as clerics of Eilistraee and Vhaeraun.-From the Descent into Darkness Web Site

Ages and ages ago, the lovely *XullraeZauviir didn't quite make my commission call, but since she's so awesome I told her that it might take awhile but I would paint it the first time there was a break in my list! Finally I got a break in the list and got it in and finished it right in time for ~EruditeBastich 's birthday! Bonus that out of all the NPC's in Xull'rae's stories - I enjoy Rizzen the most, with Vesz'aun as a close second and I got to draw them both.

Oh smack me. lol I thought I had commented on this picture but no. . . I was mistaken. I love the sense of emotion and drama in this picture. Rizzen is almost showing off with that confident fighting pose of his, were as poor Vesz'aun is bent over in agonizing pain.
i am sure Rizzen will love to boast about this moment. both guys are soo adorable. well done

Great feel, great pic, and gotta love Vesz's pain. Nice to see someone manly kicking his ass, usually it's Xull making him looking like a wiss. At least this gives him manly dignity.
Both boys fight dirty so technically it's a fair fight.

The poses were some of the hardest I've had to do, especially the hands. But I do love the learning processes.

I'm behind on commenting on your other works but I will get to them all eventually.
This one was well worth my money and the wait. 
He never spent much time on fleshing Rizzen out and left it in my hands to do that while he spent his efforts on Cogliostro and Vesz'aun.
You captured the dynamic of the underdark and the fighting style itself. 
The hair is so real looking, your best I think.
The characters themselves you portrayed really well. Vesz'aun does tend to have the upper hand in fighting, not winning but dodging and avoiding blows . . . and running away to fight another day. 
Rizzen, the victor has taken his thinblade as a prize. He is neither cocky nor pleased at winning. the assassin in him is honing his craft. Vesz'aun was practice. If anything he is satisfied he still has what it takes to do a job right and well. Practice target lives, the real deal would not. He is a killer but not a machine, his eyes say as much. They are bright and alert.

I'm so glad that you're happy with it XD It was such a joy to draw on so many levels. I'm happy that it fits well and the characters come across clearly. You have such amazing drow in your story I had to try hard to do them justice! It's so rare I get a chance to actually do an Underdark setting and drow right in their backstabbing element. It was a real pleasure!

This turned out SO well, baby. 8D Omigosh, I love the atmosphere. And wow wow, their hair looks so great - I think that's some of my favourite hair I've seen you do. It looks SO soft and thick on both of them.

The angle was a whole bunch of trial and error. Perspective? What's that?? XDD I feel bad for him too... but I'm kinda impressed with Rizzen for actually hitting him.
