Description
Starting from the left: Sunshine, Twilight, Snowflake, ArcticThis pic looks like an evolution chart to me where Sunshine is a "human" and Arctic is the "monkey" scratching himself
Twilight (AKA Bluey- yeah, we're very creative with our nicknames) died last August. He was really energetic. Every time we took a picture of him with flash, he opened up his wings.

That's a lot of budgies you have.. you must really love budgies.
The yellow one, Sunshine looks hilarious. Just sitting there looking straight as a board
p.s. Sorry to hear about Twilight. He seems to have a lovable personality. I like his expression in this

I can't have cats or dogs in my neighborhood and my mom would faint if she saw a rodent or reptile in my house so budgies are my only option.
Sunshine, I have to say, is the sweetest out of all the birds. He was kind of shocked by the flash in this picture
Twilight was the funny one. He had no idea what he was doing...ever

They sure look like a handful
Just curious... can you get them to perch on your shoulder? And can they talk?

They can't speak human language but they chirp...A LOT. Only Arctic comes onto my shoulder. The rest of them come to my hand if I have treats
BTW your comics are hilarious!

How many budgies do you have? My birds are crazy and I think this picture captures that. XP
Are your birds trained?

I have two, called Cookie (white and blue, he looks like a cookie xD) and Speedy (blue and black). Speedy is really crazy and energetic, Cookie is more calm. You can look in my gallery, there are pictures of them
Cookie is trained, Speedy belongs to my little sister and she didn't train him - don't ask me why. ^^
I hope you can understand my English, because I am german

They are adorable! I've always wanted a budgie that looked like Cookie. Who's the completely white budgie? Are they boys or girls?
I never would've guessed that you are German. Your writing seems fine

TurquoiseLady In reply to Blistice [2010-08-10 20:37:57 +0000 UTC]
As I saw Cookie I thougt "What a wonderful bird!" - It was love at the first sight The completely white one is/was Skipbo. We found him one month ago lonely sitting on a street. So we took him with us. But last week he broke out (I forgot to close the window completely, it was opende a little bit and he found the way out -.-). I watched him flying on a tree in our garden, screamed for help, and in the next moment I lost him. We searched for him for more than 1 hour but we couldn't find him
Now, everybody says "Maybe he's a free bird, who loves the nature & wilderness." (Because we also found him in the nature). Maybe it is like they say?
Oh... many people say that. I still can't believe xD Thank you (:

That happened to me one time. I was riding my bike and I almost ran over a budgie running around in the street (it was also white). When I got off my bke to get a closer look, it flew to a nearby tree. I followed it for an hour or so and knew that it wasn't going to come near me so I gave up.
How did you catch the bird in the first place O_o? It's probably supposed to be a free bird....
do you speak german fluently? My brother takes german in college. Have you heard of Ramstein? I listen to his music a lot.

TurquoiseLady In reply to Blistice [2010-08-11 20:32:23 +0000 UTC]
Hm...
Well, we had a kind of blanket in our car. We went slowly beside the budgie. He looked very calm and "down". He showed no fear against us. So we threw the blanket over the bird. He didn't "scream" he was really calm. And so we drove home and took hhim into the cage. We found out that he was trustingly! I don't know, I guess it was really strange...
Yes, maybe you are right.
To your last question: Cookie and Speed are male.. not female (I don't know how to say that by animals.. sorry!)
Yes, I am born in Munich/Germany. It's my native language. But I am learning English (for 6 years now) and French (for 4 years now) in school. I also want to go to a specialised secondory school in September for three years to improve my language skills and to study at the end (: I really like languages and other countries!! β₯
Wow, and, what does she think about german? It is not easy, right?
Yes, I know from Rammstein. But I doesn't like that kind of music. My best friend likes it totally xP

Blistice In reply to TurquoiseLady [2010-08-12 15:44:36 +0000 UTC]
Wow! You're really lucky you had a blanket...I wish I had one at that time...
I actually prefer male budgies. They are more trusting than females. My female is evil! Snowflake bites so hard, my brother and I try not to touch her. She's taken off skin many times.
I'm in the US (you probably guessed by my account). Your English is pretty good. I've been learning some German from my brother and I've learned some from music. He keeps speaking German (he really likes it XD). German is actually similar to English (in a way). It's not too difficult but there are always times when he really has to think about what he wants to say. I'm taking Latin at the moment. What kind of music do you like?
π: 0 β©: 1
TurquoiseLady In reply to Blistice [2010-08-12 21:45:36 +0000 UTC]
You're right? Who knows, maybe the budgie would have get killed or blessed if we hadn't kept him with us (ooh.. I hate the sentences with "if". I just can't build "if" sentences... xD)!
Me, too. I never had a female one, but my mom had one. She had the same problems as you, so she said to me that I should buy a male budgie. My first budgie was called "Tippsy" and I became him on my 6th birthday. He died in 2006, with (how i can remind) 8 or 9 years. But he also was ill, he had an affiction: he couldn't fly But I trained him so he walked through my room all the time haha
Yes, I have seen it. From which country in the US do you come from? I really like America, it's my biggest dream to travel 'round there. It's so different from Germany... I love it!!
Thanks to you (:
How old are you and your brother? I have got a little sister, she's 11 years old (I am 17 years old)!
It's like learning English: With the years, I really like the language & know how to spell the words and so on, blablabla ^^ - but there are moments I stop talking and think "What the hell meant that word?!" Or: "Oh no... How does it go on now?!" xP
Latin? In Germany, you can only learn it if you are going to a secondary school. I was going to the secondary modern school from 2004 - July 2010; so I learned English and French. I think Latin is very bad to learn? O.o
Oh, I like differend music... In the moment, I like listening to music from the 80s, but also the musik from Madonna, Katy Perry, Lissie (β₯β₯) and "Ich & Ich" (my favourite german musik group). I really hate Tokio Hotel and stuff like that, it's awful... (If you knwo Tokio Hotel xP)
Kristina. (:

My female budgie is really strong because she constantly picks up doors and slams them. In the pet store, you can't tell what gender they are because they all are so young. My first bird was blind (or so I think) and he died after 3 days. I think we were too young to have birds.
I'm in New York. My dream is to go to Tokyo.
My brother is 22 and I'm 19 (well, almost)
Why don't you like Latin? I think it's awesome!
Out of all of them, the only one I know is Katy Perry. I listen to a lot of the music my brother listens to. It's not too popular but I love the sound of the music.
I don't know Tokyo Hotel :/
π: 0 β©: 1
TurquoiseLady In reply to Blistice [2010-08-14 21:16:09 +0000 UTC]
Hmm, as we were in the pet store, they knew what gender the birds are. You can tell it by the look at the skin over the beak of the budgie. If it is blue or violett, the bird's male. Is it pink or rosΓ©, the budgie's female! It was told me like this.
Tokyo? hmh.. I think I wouldn't go there. It does not interest me much!
Woooow New York I have heard so much about this city! *__-
I think it is very hard to speak / learn latin Oo
Hmmh tell some of them to me, maybe I have heard of them? (:
Oh, it is good if you don't know Tokio Hotel. The music group is AWFUL!! ;D
Good night (:

Blistice In reply to TurquoiseLady [2010-08-15 15:27:05 +0000 UTC]
All of the budgies have pink ceres when they're young though so it's impossible to tell just by looking at them.
I love video games and animes so I've always wanted to visit.
Latin is very easy! It's similar to English.
I just went onto the internet and searched tokyo hotel...they aren't bad.
Some of my faves:
broken tonight (original mix) by armin van buuren)
because(remix) by ferry corsten
denial by airbase
dust in the wind by gabriel and dresden
I also like music that are the top 40 in America. I love Lady Gaga

TurquoiseLady In reply to Blistice [2010-08-15 17:55:47 +0000 UTC]
Well, Cookie had a blue one though he was very young (half a year).. So it was told to me, that it is like that. I don't know... ^^
Okay, that's a point, than you really have to go there
I can't imagine that it is easy...all my friends who are learning latin are going crazy with it - they hate it. xD.
I think they are bad. I simply don't like them.
I think I know "dust in the wind"! Now I know what I will do the next time: listen to the songs you have listed to find out wether I like them or not
Lady Gaga makes good Songs! But, it's funny, the first time I hear a new song from her I really like it and it's a sing-along. But after a view times listening to them I get bored :S The only song I still like very much is "Just Dance" <3

Half a year is enough time to change the color of the cere.
Well, obviously we have different tastes in language and in music.
Have you heard:
-tracking treasure down by Gabriel and Dresden
-burned with desire by armin van buuren
-here on earth (cary brothers) by tiesto
Just Dance was an awesome song! I really took a liking to Alejandro. Her songs are repetitive but they get drilled into my head and I begin to like them.

Yeah.
I have heard the songs you told me at the beginning of the week. I think they're O.K. but they aren't my "taste"!
I will take a listening to the otherones when I am back home again! (I am still in France)
I really like the song "Teenage Dream" from Katy Perry. It won't leave my head!! Alejandro is very good.

I'm very picky about spelling. I like words to be spelled correctly.

Well I've heard of it. A friend of me was in Hartford, Connecticut, with her family. They stood there for 2 years because of her dad's work. She travelled all throug the US! *.*

My classes do include my friends though.

Yeah, she did. She wrote me for example postcards from California and Florida. Her dad earns a lot of money, it is not to overlook! After their comeback, they bought a house with a big garden, and Sandra (my friend's name) is visiting a private special secondary school. But they are really nice and friendly!
