I know this sounds rude and horrible, but it's true.
The people on this site are near as childish and awful as those on Tumblr.
Say one bad thing, and a flood of child-like insults, non-constructive criticism and just plain horrible people, even people that you think are nice just end up as horrible as others.
I think the best case was with the youtube channel "I Hate Everything" when he did his DeviantArt video.
Short version is, he criticisied someone's artwork and he got ton of hate. IHE got swarms of emails for it and the artist had to leave from all the backlash.
dA nowadays is more like Tumblr, except with more children that run wild and try to get people to like them.

Yep, pretty much exactly that. This site was meant to be for people to come draw and learn art, to talk to other artist more easily as we're all in one tank and give comments and constructive criticism but you rarely ever see that. I've been doing that for such a long time and now I've just grown tired of it, I can't comment on things like I used to, I don't talk to new people like I used to, it's becoming more like a chore to do those things now than an enjoyment. All I see everywhere is people who use ms paint and bases for everything or just use this site as another facebook which is annoying. I don't even bother with much now, I only watch friends or a few other people who's art I'm interested in and just leave it as that, there is no point trying anymore.

Honestly, IHE really summed up this site into a nice pie chart when he was reviewing the place.
Then again, the entire internet is going to shit, literally everything is just crowded with morons that bomb you with insults when you try giving a fair and constructed opinion on a subject.
Good example is the Five Nights at Freddy's fandom:
Someone did a video on the game where they stated the pro's and con's of the franchise. You know, game has some atmosphere but it's the same thing over and over.
In his comments...Just a bunch of idiots sending him threats and insults for ruining the "best game of all time".
dA is no different now. Just really stupid people that think that using solely bases and bad use of MS paint is art.
There was a blog on Tumblr, famous for it's posts on empowering bronies and such, but the owner made a post that pissed artists and myself to the core. It named a small-time artist whom was known for using bases and later on moved away from it as "The best artist in the fandom, for their ideas and their art-style".
Checking their stuff, I just found amateur stuff and non-canon ships between canon characters.
I'm just so sick of dA nowadays and I only come on to see if my favourite artists have done stuff and just favourite it. No point commenting since they don't answer or the comments are just littered with stupid ones.
(Oh, and for all who stumbled on this discussion between Pun and I, think before you write something here. I mean honestly think constructively and with reason. Last thing I want is stupid replies for Pun and I to see.)
