NO CRITS PLEASE. I'm not a professional artist, I'm not looking to be one. I'm just finding some fun in the midst of an occassionally depressing life.Friday morning I thought I'd start my early weekend off with a doodle. Doodle exploded. Experimented with some freer, sketchier coloring and lineart than usual.
This is Ripper, from my comic, Resurrection. :3 .... aka Ri-chan. >___>;;; also aka Michael.
oAo NUUU. I swear I'm not a retard angel fangirl. b-b-but ... the arch angel Michael does deserve a fair portion of fangirls. >3< If he can quarel with Satan over Moses' corpse in an uncanonized book of the bible, that's some serious bad assery .... [really, Lucifer, what were you going to do with that? O___o;;;]

Ripper sure has evolved from the days of ASPS. He looks really bad-ass and--but maybe it's just me--a little bit Arabic? Maybe it's the background colors giving me the impression of sand that's making me think that.

although now you've got me thinking on it. I'm comparing Vidu and Richan. We can make a horrible generalization and say Arab: manly. Indian: not manly.
but really, none of the angels are tied to certain races. Not enough pale people on earth for that.

Lucifer just wants the body because he wants something to soothe his ego. Kinda like when your sibling gets the larger half of the cookie, you drink all of their milk. Little victories, you know.

I'd really like to imagine Lucifer deciding to make a zombie horde and have undead Moses and Elijah be their leaders, that way he could sort of meet the requirements of the end times prophecy WHILE STILL creating a zombie apocalypse.

I don't think Lucifer cares since he rules, well, Hell. He's probably got rotting corpses of famous people as artwork in his house. ... Wow, I just gave myself a visual. That was gross.

hehehe! I think we're over estimating Lucifer. I liked Lucifer from Sandman, who was sick of Hell and preferred to go to the beach. XD
It would be far too much work to give two zombies new abilities. Better to just let them roam the streets with whatever they came with. Also, I'd like to imagine Lucifer's preferred wall art is Mattise. [link] <~ would look smashing when surrounded by flames.

Positive critique: As always, your color can do no wrong, and looking at the thumbnail of this was awesome and exciting.
Negative critique: I just feel I must point out that your figurative proportions are still quite off, and it does take away somewhat from the greatness of the pose, the composition, the colors, the mood. As I said, this looked great from a distance, but when I got up close, I was a tad disappointed to see his form up close. I'm not trying to ruin your day, and I hope I didn't. I just think maybe you should work on proportion more, to catch it up to all the others ways you rock. (Specifically, your figures tend to start large at the heads and get progressively smaller down the body.) And I would never tell you to aim for realism, since your style is distinct and wonderful. It's just that right now, these proportion differences read more as mistakes than artistic license.

No, it's just, scad in retrospect: me trying to get my drawings anatomically correct, NEVERMIND all the other important things that go into visual story telling.
I remain frustrated and endeavor to correct this backwards way of thinking. At the end of SCAD, all I really have are a collection of mediocre drawings of muscle men. HOW. LOVELY.

On a street near me there is a lampshade shop called Lucifer Lighting, and right next door to it there is the Archangel Michael Healing Centre. My friends and I find this highly amusing.
