I step into the shadows,I’m hiding from you,
I’m hiding my scars from you,
I don’t want you to see me,
I don’t want to be near you,
You’ll disappear before I blink.
You predictable friend
You abandon me, always
I’m always abandoned.
Alone, again. Surprise.
I thought you understood me
It’s not even worth it
- Getting close to people
For what?
Them to drop me? and
Surrender their faithfulness
Then fall under my weight
I’m too hard to love
Just watch me back into shadows
Before your very eyes
I cringe at your voice
I die in your heart
I thought you understood me
So look, here I am!
Always abandoned,
Alone. Surprise.
Is that the back of your head?
Walking away from me,
I see it in focus now,
Don’t bother waving
I’ll try to forget you were here.
I’ll step into the shadows,
Cause I’m hiding from you,
Though I thought you understood me.
But I don’t want to be near you,
You’ll disappear again.
It’s no surprise to me.
