Description Mature just because mr vampire is technically naked here lol, no bits tho.

Drawn early January 2019, I thought to myself.. what if vampires looked like this?

Maybe it's just the residual furry in me, lmao. I really enjoyed coming up with this idea though, and in fact drew three different things in one day related to all this lore I'm about to dump, lol.

Read on if you want, but I kinda went off so it's a lot and may not all make sense haha

Vampires and Werewolves were actually incredibly similar in terms of their beast like forms. They fought over similar territories to eat similar prey, and this is where the long standing feud between them has it's roots. The original bloodline of vampires, the First Vampires, had appearances a bit like the above. They were tall, large creatures, between 7 and 8 feet standing, but their forearms acted a little more like wings, not used for flight so much as propelled leaping, though as time wore on this trait declined to the form above. Pure breeds still retain larger hands and a bit of that wing membrane in various degrees.

Vampire society advanced alongside human society, although it remained far more stable compared to the rise and fall of human settlements and living conditions. So, pure blood vampires retaine a bit of an elitist lifestyle, living in either Vampire estates built by and for vampires, or taking over old human castles, abandoned after the village or kingdom fell to war.

Now, as time wore on some vampires began to be born who were smaller, had shorter ears, and suddenly lacked the large presence of wing membranes on their forearms, though they still had a short, boney spike on their elbows. This happened suddenly, and only in certain families. The descendants of these vampires are considered average citizens, and are often found staffing First Blood estates as guards, maids, cooks, etc. And live on the estates either within the castle home or somewhere on the grounds in their own home.

Finally, at some point humans in the medieval age began to spread again, and fight against Vampires to reclaim old lands long since taken over by the first bloods. In the ensuing minor wars, vampires discovered they could turn humans to their side. However the resulting vampires were considered impure and designated low-bloods. They had an extended life expectancy and some of the physical capabilities of average vampires, but none of the qualities considered beautiful (nice large ears, soft fur, etc.) Instead they were pale, hairless things, and some ended up feral and caused issues. The ones who are not feral live on the edges of the estates and receive varying kinds of care and welfare depending on what first blood they live beside.

And that's that, thanks for reading all this lol, I'm gonna post some more vampire drawings I've done, there's quite a bit!! More lore will be on some of those as well.
