Okay, so. . . I jumped on the bandwagon and filled out 's Influence Map. . .I really had fun putting this together, and while I didn't follow her rules to the T, with some of the smaller ones being bigger influences and inspiriations. . . I was running out of room by the end of it *laughs* And wanted it to look well put together. Anyway! On to the list!
In no particular order of importance from left to right, top to bottom, as if reading a book:
1. World of Warcraft (Burning crusades especially) was a big part of my life and inspired many pieces of art and fueled much of my artistic improvement.
2. Brian Jaques' Redwall. I love these books so much. They're sweet little family stories with epic adventures and heros and horrible villians. From Badger Lords to Scurvy cat pirates to legendary mice heros with "magical" swords, the world of Redwall always makes me feel artistic and happy.
3. SMAUG! I was gonna put just "Dragons" in this slot, but. . . When I found the picture of Smaug from the 70's movie "The Hobbit." I knew I had to rework it. Smaug, the terrible red dragon created by J.R.R Tolkien was both my first dragon, and my first villian, and thus, deserves a spot here all by himself to tell the story of the addiction he fed for both of those things in my life.
4. Hemura Kensin, or Samurai X, is the only Anime I've ever watched the entire series of. I absolutely ADORE it. He's also the only Anime character I've ever drawn a fanart of. The story was awesome and everyone was drawn wonderfully. I cried when I watched the movie too. Y_Y It was sad, but I still loved it.
5. Goldenwolf. [link] Ever since I first laid eyes on her work. . . I was in love. I strive to be as good as her someday. . . Someday. . .
6 + 8. Prehistoria. For as long as I can remember, dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures have haunted my brain. Being a Paleontologist has been a life long dream of mine, as of yet unfulfilled. . . But it's still there, lurking. I can't get enough of these wonderful ancient beings.
7. Ahhh. . . And now we get to my obsession. . . Dragonriders of Pern. I run my own fanfic Weyr (with my friends, of course.) at High Reaches [link] and this world fuels my imagination, dreams, desires, and artistic growth like nothing else I've ever come across. I'm addicted. I write, draw, and even SPEAK like the characters in the books. People might say that I eat, sleep, and breathe Pern. None of that DRoP Bullshite. Respect the world and write the whole thing out! *Grumble* Anyway, the first art I ever drew that I thought was halfway decent revolved around Pern. . . And after that one drawing, I signed up for art class the next year. . . And look at me now? Half rate compared to many, I'm sure, but growing every day and loving the involvement that I have in the art world. All thanks to Anne McCaffery's Pern.
9. Georgia O'keefe. Though my art looks nothing like hers, ever since I first saw her paintings in art class in Highschool, I've loved her flowers. Wanting to paint like her gave rise to some of my first real desires to improve myself and my artwork to more than just scribbles.
10. Horses. I've loved them for as long as I can remember. Graceful, beautiful creatures who were the subjects of my first scribbles when I was little.
11. Sailor Moon. Okay, stop throwing things at me! *Ducks* OW! Okay okay, yes. . . I like Sailor Moon. I said STOP throwing things. *Rubs head.* Anyway. Yes, it's childish, girly, cute, and utterly -lame- to many people, especially of my age and older, but. . . It was my first Anime and I've been addicted to many Anime's since then. . . And the art style of Japanese Cartoons ever since.
12. The Wolf King. I chose this book, as it is one of my favorites, to represent the others in the genre of realistic animal novels written between 1920 and 1970. Wolf King, Red Fox, Big Red, Sean, all of these books are some of my favorites and a go-to story when I want a feel good read.
13. Star Wars. What can I say about Star Wars that hasn't been said before? God. . . I love the whole shebang. From the Phantom Menace to the New Jedi Order books. I love the universe, the stories, the characters. . . Everything.
14. Last but not least, wolves. I adore them, I always have. If you ask me what my favorite animal is? "Wolf!" will be out of my mouth before the last sylable is silent in your question. I've always revered these creatures as something more than brute animals and livestock killers. I'm so glad that people are really starting to learn about them and work with them in a world that is getting to be far too small.
So, there we have it. My Influence Map. . . All Images are Copywrite of their creators. All images are either linked with their respective owners, or found on Google Images.

*chuckles* Well, I'm glad you love me, but there is a -huge- fandom around Pern. ^_^ Isn't it great? I've read just about every book but the most recent and I'm in the process of making a collection of books I own. ^_^
