Description
Sam looked down at their new troubleshooting uniform. They’ve just put it on, they haven’t even attached the holster for the pistol yet. They were impatient to put it on and see how it looked on them. The fabric of the new overalls was clean and sturdy, and bright orange in color. It showed no signs of previous use. Sam’s previous uniform was likely a reused one, and it was a bit oversized for them; with Sam’s slim figure, the old uniform always felt baggy, and the belt was the only thing preventing it from sagging completely and making Sam’s movements more uncomfortable. This new uniform, however, was not only new: it was exactly Sam’s size, fitting their body tight – tight like Friend Computer’s embrace had been, Sam thought. This uniform will always remind them of that embrace now.
Sam felt inexplicable joy at how well the new uniform fit them. It was made for them, just like the rank it signified. It was a testament to Friend Computer’s care. It felt right.
Another thing they noticed was that the fabric of the shirt was nicer, too. The previous one had been kind of itchy and stiff, but this one was softer and more pleasant on their skin.
Sam was so, so grateful. Grateful, and oh so happy. They knew they were right all along. They were meant for this. Happiness is mandatory, after all; and if this made them so happy, that must mean them ascending in ranks was not only a hopeful wish, but a mandatory objective for them to achieve.
A smile curled itself on Sam’s thin lips.

Sooooo like a month ago I started playing in a Paranoia Perfect Edition campaign ran by the one and only Batata Studios (do book them as a GM if you can, they're fantastic!!!). Paranoia is a tabletop RPG set in a humorous parody of a dystopia, where all of humanity lives in one huge underground complex ran by an insane and paranoid artificial intelligence called The Computer (or Friend Computer, because The Computer is your friend. You should trust Friend Computer. Everyone is friends here in Alpha Complex. Claiming otherwise is treason. You're not a traitor, are you?). The Computer does not understand the concept of a mistake, because computers don't make mistakes. Therefore, any "mistake" is treated as treason against The Computer. If you commit a lot of treason, you become a wanted criminal, and everyone is legally required to shoot you on sight. But don't worry: you have five more backup clones of yourself stored in the cloning facilities, ready to be deployed with all your memories intact as soon as you die.
Treason includes things like being a mutant or belonging to a secret society.
Every player character is a mutant and belongs to a secret society.
Fun, right? Better hope you can keep your secrets under lock and key. Keep your enemies close, and your treason closer!
So anyways as a renowned GLaDOS simp I obviously made a character that is obsessed with and simps for Friend Computer.
Meet Sam-O-ALU-0, the worst pathetic rat to ever be produced by the cloning facilities of Alpha Complex. They are utterly devoted to Friend Computer and Friend Computer only, and their greatest desire is to become Friend Computer's closest, most trusted person, because they believe they deserve it - they would never commit any misdeed or treason against Friend Computer, they are the most loyal and devoted to it out of everyone. If only their senpai would notice them... They would do anything to gain Friend Computer's attention. Other humans are worthless to Sam, because they can't compare to Friend Computer's perfection. They're only good as stepping stones for Sam's plans, that potentially treasonous lot.
On one of their missions as a Troubleshooter, Sam had an encounter with Friend Computer in physical form. It hugged Sam and one other member of their team with its greasy metallic cables, making the latter extremely uncomfortable and making the former bluescreen out of happiness at the unexpected gesture of affection. Thanks to stealing credit for some information gathered by a fellow Troubleshooter, Sam was then publicly recognized by Friend Computer as its most trusted Red Clearance officer, and later immediately promoted to Orange Clearance. One of the benefits of the promotion included a new uniform; practically the same as a Red uniform, but in a different color and made of slightly better materials, as our Game Master informed us. And I ran with it, deciding to take this opportunity to make a solid design and include a small piece of writing about Sam's feelings on the matter.
//Watch me never shut up about this rat. You guys have been spared from the HUGE flood of fanarts I have for this campaign for an entire month. You have no idea.
//There are not thoughts in my brain anymore there is just Paranoia and a horizontally spinning rat
