Description
I was totally PSYCHED about seeing Zootopia! The design of the city itself and of course the characters all reminded me of my own characters. The whole movie sounds like something I could've invented. But I'm glad Disney thought of it first. But I kind of spoiled myself too much by watching clips on YouTube and looking at scenes from the movie on Disney Wikipedia. But even when I sought for the first time in theaters, I was BLOWN AWAY!!!Anyway here are a series of drawings for a an idea for a sequel to Zootopia that I had. In this sequel idea, most of the main characters from the movie have children now and the sequel focuses mainly on Judy's son. (scroll down for the story)
(I hope you don't mind the fact that their all sketches. I will add the final drawings soon.)
HERE IS THE STORY (as it is now):
The movie takes place 10-15 years after the end of the first. Judy Hopps now has a 9 year old son named Max, who has inherited his mother's intelligence, optimism, and especially her ambition. He idolizes his mom and dreams of becoming a cop just like her and he refuses to let the fact that he's only a kid stand in his way. Max is friends with sly Miles (son of Nick Wilde), timid Gus (son of Chief Bogo), and soft spoken Blurr (daughter of Flash the sloth). Max also has a little crush on a talented young rabbit named Zoe, who idolizes Gazelle.
One day, Max witnesses the school bully, a wolf named Nate Lobo, mugging his friend Tuskany the elephant for her class notes. Seeing this as a chance to emulate his mom, Max dons his police hat and runs after Nate, ignoring the teachers he passes, and telling Nate to "stop in the name of the law". Unable to catch him by foot, Max creates a makeshift bola out of rope and baseballs from the gym, which he throws at Nate and it wraps around his ankles, knocking him to the floor. Max then slaps toy handcuffs on Nate and places him"under arrest". But just when Max is about to return the notes to Tuskany, Principal Potbelly comes up, and Nate pretends that Max tied him up for no reason and stole his class notes. Max tries to plead his innocence, but the principal unties Nate and halls Max off to the office.
Judy gets a call from the principal to come to the school (she can hear Max's voice in the background stating he's not the bad guy). The principal states that Max is charged with running in the halls, ignoring the teachers, using school property unauthorized, and throwing said school property at another student. When Judy sees Max's actions on the school security cameras, she is surprisingly impressed by her son's reflexes and her memory (flashback) takes her back to when she was bullied by Gideon Grey as a child, and when she was chasing Duke Weaselton when she first joined the force. Miles comes into the principal's office acting like he's Max's lawyer, and says that Max is a hero and does not deserve what he has gotten. The principal refuses to accept it, until Miles leads all three of them outside to the hallway where all the students are applauding and chanting Max's name. Max feels like a true hero now and stands boldly toward his schoolmate, filled with pride. All this chatting finally convinces the principal to let Max off, but warns him that if she gets any more reports of physical assault from him, he will be suspended.
Now everyone treats Max like a celebrity and he loves it. Everyone applauds him everywhere he passes, he gets to cut in line at lunch, and everyone keeps asking for autographs. Best of all, other bullies seem to flee in terror at the sight of him....

Will we see Max and his girlfriend Zoe Rabbit in the future?
Also, I never knew Max had a girlfriend!

I really like this idea. It feels like one of those direct-to-dvd sequels Disney used to do back in the day, except good.
