Merlynn Martinez has had a rough year. Not only did she nearly get killed by the Tyrant in the Golden Alien Invasion but she found out her mother was gravely ill. She had put her Hero persona on hold to help aid her mother in her final days. Even though she barely knew her mother, she cared for her. She went to Texas to see her for the last time. After her mother's passing, Merlynn came back to Denver only to find out that the whole team has been disbanded for weeks. She needed a new charger for her Visual Displacement Device because without it, her powers would flood over causing her to turn purple and glowy out in public. But still nobody was around. She soon stumbled up notes made from her mentor Elizabeth Azure "Sky" about an investigation that's she's been tackling for weeks. Inverted Creatures, Ghosts, and Time displacement were all involved in this. Merlynn decided to set out and try her best to assist her mentor. She was a bit rusty but Merlynn managed to channel her power to a certain level to make sure she doesn't go crazy with it. Merlynn started her transformation. Her skin glowed into a shade of Violet, her hazel eyes burned Bright Blue, Her hair grey long then went from Brown to a Pale Grey. Merlynn needed a new costume due to the fact that her old one was burned right off her body during the invasion. She went to Crimson's Lab in the Presque Five Points location because apparently he had been working on making power compatible suits for those with powers. Once their Merlynn saw own that was a closely related to her original suit just was a slight change. Once the suit was on it scanned her body and adapted to her. IT suddenly became a perfect fit for her. After this Merlynn glided into the Sky and embraced her long unused powers of Cosmic. Merlynn had become "Energy" once again.
