Applejack was announced as unable to have foals, which broke her a little. So one night she broke out into Ponyville's only bar, the Trotting Mare. Seeing as she had nothing to loose (or is that gain?) Applejack spent the night with Snowflake. A few weeks later she showed signs of expecting, which Granny Smith picked up on easily. A big shock to them all, and as such Applejack wanted it to be kept private, with only the closest of family and friends told. Of course the Apples took the greatest care for Applejack, Big Mac took to doing the work mostly himself, with Granny and Applebloom helping where they could.

Feather was born on November 4'th at 11:38pm, three days after she was recommended due. She was a tough birth, and started at 5:34pm, setting Granny a'worrying. When she was finally born her exhausted mother looked down at her sadly and muttered, "Granny, she's fragile as a feather she is, n just as light" . "Ye namin 'er Feather then?" Granny replied calmly, taking her own peek at the sickly peach foal.

And so she was named Feather Flight, quite different then the Apples usually named themselves. Born quite sick, both the doctor and the Apples had little hopes for her, and Applejack watched over her like a hawk. Whenever AJ was resting or busy, Winona gladly stepped up to guard over her small charge. Because of Feathers state she rarely left the house, and rarely saw other foals. However she did have two playmates, Stardust Trot and Venid Void, who often were at the Acres. All three happily played together.

However Feather recovered miraculously within early foalhood, and began running outside like other foals her age did. Applejack found that if Feather was in the sunlight for long, freckles would reveal on her back, neck, ears and face. Terrible timing however, as Void moved away to Canterlot with his father at the same time. Not long after Stardust began coming outside less and less, eventually never leaving her home. Feather was introduced to school for a little bit, but was soon withdrawn due to reasons. Twilight and the others took to teaching her just as they did the Cutiemark Crusaders, about life values and maths and how to read and things like that.

Feather was always curious about her dad, and one day mustered up the courage to ask. Applejack got a bit upset at this, but as her element portrays she told her child as much about her father as she knew. Snowflake new about his daughter but respected Applejacks wishes to keep away, unless called. It was at this time that Applejack gave Feather something special to her, a ratty old faded ribbon. "It was my own ma's ribbon" She explained to her confused child, who lovingly tied the ribbon of her grandmother around her mane. She almost always wears it.

It was her father who gave her the hat and charms, when they formally met up once. Applejack had respect for Snowflake, but she didn't love him. However they both deeply loved Feather, which stopped any or all conflicts that could have spurred. Although not as commonly worn as her ribbon she does wear it as one of her regular items of clothing.

*She likes to change her hairstyle every now and again.
*Big hater of spaghetti
