Guns are cool and all, but there’s just something classic about using a blade. The sword is a bladed weapon used for both cutting and thrusting, these bladed weapons have been used in different forms through history. Today these two combatants are put against each other for their skills in the way with the sword;

But put them together in a battle to the death... who will be victorious?

Blade Battle!

Satsuki Kiryuin- Daughter of Ragyo Kiryuin and Sister of Ryuko Matoi in the Kill La Kill series. Satsuki is the first born child to Ragyo and Soichiro Kiryuin, and soon became the first failed test subject of being fused with Life Fibers; sentient parasitic organisms of extraterrestrial origin and are the origin of all clothing on Earth, as well as the entities responsible for the evolution of humanity. However, after Soichiro learned the truth about Ragyo’s plan to let the Life Fibers consume and destroy the world, he secretly taught a 5-year-old Satsuki about her mother and the secrets of Life Fibers and fled therefore betraying Ragyo. Soichiro then revealed a Kamui called “Junketsu” and said that it will be her "wedding dress" before he took infant Ryuko with him into hiding. Over the rest of her childhooh Satsuki has been secretly plotting and pretending to work with her mother Ragyo so that when the time was right she would overthrow her and defeat her and save the planet from its extinction. She even created Honnoji Academy to create an army for when that time came and made a squad of four individuals with special talents that she could trust called The Elite Four. However she failed the first attempt while also discovering that Ryuko is also her sister that she thought that had died in Ragyo’s experiments (Spoiler sorry). Satsuki is an incredible human being, she is the most powerful fighter at Honnoji Academy possessing almost superhuman physical strength, speed, endurance and reflexes. During her middle-school years she was able to emit a fighting spirit capable of taking down 500 men, and she was able to incapacitate Ira Gamagori despite his superior size, age and with him wearing steel armor. Even when completely naked, and with her hands restrained she still had enough skill and power to kill multiple Life Fiber COVERS using nothing more than her two altered toenails. Satsuki’s two false toenails are made of the same material as her sword Bakuzan. Bakuzan is a black katana like sword that is made of a special metal with the ability to cut Life Fibers. It was later split into Bakuzan Gako and Bakuzan Koryu; a long blade and short blade, after Satsuki was defeated by Ragyo Kiryuin during The Great Culture and Sport Festival. After being broken, it was later revealed that the two halves of the sword can mimic Ryuko’s Scissor Blades' ability to nullify Life Fibers regeneration. Bakuzan is very powerful and sharp, even able to fight with Ryuko’s Scissor Blade. Its strength is so great that one slash is enough to damage a transformed Kamui. Satsuki is a master swordsmen and wields Bakuzan masterfully, able to fight and beat Ryuko while she was wearing Senketsu. After her first clash with Ryuko, Satsuki took the Kamui Junketsu and was able to force the blood-thirsty uniform to bow to her will. Under Junketsu's power, Satsuki is granted incredible power, even the smallest of attacks are capable of causing absolute devastation such as shockwaves and explosions almost every time she swings Bakuzan. Junketu’s also gives her heightened endurance and durability, and Junketu’s armor is harder than steel. She is also capable of altering her Kamui's shape, as seen when she altered one of her shoulder guards into a drill to attack Ryūko or when she formed the shoulder guard into a grappling hook. However, due to her inability to overcome the human race's resistance to the Life Fibers, she is unable to fully synchronize with Junketsu, thus being shy of its full power and capabilities while exerting greater pressure and fatigue on her body. After Ryuko rips off Junketsu and being freed of Ragyō's mind control, Satsuki has Junketsu modified and infused it with the blood of Ryuko and Mako as well as the fibers of Senketsu. As a result, Junketsu now gains access to Senketsu's alternate forms while placing much less stress on her body. One of these forms thanks to Senketu’s fibers was Junketsu Senpu which gave Satsuki the ability to fly, and its second form Junketsu Senpu Zenkan, grows spiked appendages which increase her flying speed. Sastuki is an intimidating figure, as she pretty much conquered all of Japan. But one of Satsuki’s most noticeable traits is her will power and intelligence, she outsmarted her mother Ragyo multiply times and even planned how to defeat Ryuko when she was wearing Junketsu. Satsuki has demonstrated a strong sense of patience and willpower, able to endure the capture and torture at the hands of her mother, while slowly planning her escape. Despite of her behavior at Honnoji, Satsuki is not heartless as she presents herself. While she is very harsh and does not tolerate failures, she does care about her Elite Four and is as protective of them as they are to her. As great as she is, she does have weakness. Satsuki can be arrogant which often leaves her open to attacks at times. Also her Kamui is a double-edge sword; while Junketu’s does grant her incredible power it needs to feed off her blood in order to do so. If she wears Junketu’s for too long she will pass out from blood loss, also if a Kamui is given too much blood at once the Kamui will take over the person that’s wearing it and become a mindless killing monster. Raiden- Cybernetic Ninja of the Metal Gear series. Real name being Jack, Jack is a Liberian-American mercenary and a former Special Forces soldier. Jack was born in Liberia, years later in his youth during the First Liberian Civil War, Jack was adopted by Solidus Snake who became his godfather after he killed Jack’s former's parents secretly. Jack was raised as a child soldier and later fought in the country's Civil War in 1989. Under Solidus care Jack became a killing machine, earning him the nickname "Jack the Ripper" due to his skills and high kill rate compared to other boys at his age. Armed with a gun at the age of six as well as a knife, he proved to be a superior soldier and raised to become captain of the Small Boy Unit at age ten. After the war was over, Solidus had Jack placed in a relief center, where eventually without Solidus' knowledge, was removed by a non-governmental organization and taken to the United States. Jack then came into the hands of the Patriots, who implanted his cerebral cortex with a high concentration of nanomachines to have him function as a back-up system for an optic-neuro AI. The Patriots chose him out of the other child soldiers in his unit because unlike the others, who would live up to their pasts and pay dearly for it, Jack did not accept his past and hated it. The same nanomachines were also capable of memory manipulation by connecting or stimulating false memories, primarily nerve sections in the dormant part of the brain. Now living in America, Jack joined the military where his admirable skills were at first recognized by the U.S. Army's Task Force XXI. Sometime later Jack joined Fox Hound to fix his past and began going on missions with Solid Snake and even killed Solidus Snake. His time at Fox Hound was where he got his new name; Raiden. However one day he was captured by the Patriots and used as a test subject, this test transformed Raiden into a cyborg ninja with superhuman capabilities. Raiden was given super human speed allowing him to run extremely fast for great distances, Jack can even run at speed of sound while deflecting bullets. Raiden is also capable of running fast enough to scale walls without falling and out run bullet trains. Raiden’s strength allows him to lift tremendous amounts of weight, evidently ranging to several thousand tons (He freakin threw a Metal Gear Ray!). When Raiden fought Metal Gear Excelsus, he ripped off one of its blades and effectively used it as a weapon, not only did he overpower the much larger Metal Gear but also took it out of commission. He even took down a room of FROG soldiers with only his sword in his mouth armless. After his first encounter and defeat against Jetstream Sam, Raiden’s received an upgraded body that is now enhanced immensely then the previous. His durability makes him virtually indestructible; he fell off a cargo helicopter and survived largely intact, while leaving a large crater. Raiden even took a beating from Senator Armstrong, who is the strongest character in the Metal Gear series. Raiden can even generate electricity around his body and focus it into punches, like during his fight against Senator Armstrong. Raiden wields a High-Frequency Blade; the blades vibrations destabilize targets molecular bonds, meaning it’ll cut through just about anything. However after his last dual with Jetstream Sam, he obtained his blade; The Murasama. The Murasama is a 16th century katana, but this version is better than Raiden’s previous sword since its vibration rate is much faster. Raiden has a special sword technique called Zandatsu or “Blade Mode”, this cause’s Raiden’s perception of time to slow down from about 50 to 90% giving time to slice rapidly and precisely anywhere at his foes revealing their weak spots and increases his blades cutting power. Raiden’s trump card when deactivating his pain inhibitors allows to enter Ripper Mode, where develops an insane persona and increase’s his speed, durability and strength immensely. However these enhanced modes rely on a fuel supply, and using them burns through it at a rapid pace. Raiden can only carry enough fuel to sustain these modes for a limited time and relies on absorbing more fuel cell electrolytes from enemy cyborgs. Plus his blood is not natural, and must be changed regularly, like engine oil in a car. Raiden is also reckless as he has no regard for his own safety or well-being.
