Babby's first cosplay. OHHH BOY. Well, I loved Rikku. She was totally adorable, spunky, fun, energetic... as a 16/17 year old, I related to her immensely. It was only natural I would want to dress up as her. I'm still pretty surprised I chose such a revealing costume as my first cosplay. But I enjoyed cosplaying her so very much, and now with my years of experience, I'd love to cosplay Rikku again at some point in the future.HAHAHA CONSTRUCTION. It's a bikini and skirt. I did dye and gradient the scarf myself.

&I laughed at the thing about your parents. I haven't worn my cosplay out yet, but my mom is acting the EXACT same way it sounds like your parents were acting...probably cause this is somthing I would usually never wear.. XP

Yeah, parents are just looking out for their kids. Also, for them, cosplaying comes as a really big shot. Because I can see how they see it, and I know I'd be a little worried too. But after my first time my mother was really cool with it. We joke around a lot and she's really understanding. And I guess it's because I don't dress like that normally that she didn't have to worry all too much about me.
I wouldn't exactly condone hiding it from them, but I don't suggest just walking out one day and going, "Here I am!" in some questionable costume. Usually if parents are close with you, they'll get used to it, as long as you don't always choose the revealing costume all the time, lol.

my mom knows about it. she's actually helping me out wih it quite a bit when I need it. (: All I know is that if I told my dad about this cosume before I had started it, he would never have allowed it. xD I walk around in it in my house and stuff though so I take it he should know by now. He knows who I'm going as, im just not sure if its clicked in his brain yet that Im walking around in a bra and skirt. O_o

Oh, don't say that. There's a body type for everyone. My friend cosplayed Tsunade because she was a little bigger than average and it looked awesome on her. You just have to figure it out.
