Crow and Contrail series feature original images captured in 15 minute sequence on Mount Desert Island with Canon EOS 350D internal processing parameters set to manual tone, saturation, sharpness and contrast. All image components such as crow, clouds and trees remain in the same position as the original shots. Minor digital darkroom completed with photoshop. Aperature 8, shutter 1/320, focal length 75. I trudged through brambles lugging camera and tripod, narrowly missing 15 foot deep trench hidden under dense brush only to look up and see a jet overhead leaving an fat annoying trail through my sky, yes my sky because I had bought and paid for it with sweat, blood and now tears! Oh well, work it into the picture and run with it. The harsh, starkey landscape was right for expressing the uncompromising contrast of beautiful Maine coastline, sky and scenery to the very raw stark reality of nature. The crow showed up immediayely afterward...
