I just put up some of my older wire pieces in my gallery, including one I made with the aid of this tutorial. [Linky] . It really is a great tutorial, very easy to follow and helpful as a set of training wheels when trying out a new technique, so thank you very much for posting it.

Very beautiful, it looks so complex. How do you get the coils so evenly placed? I am really hoping to give this one a try, but it looks too complex for me. I need practice LOL

There's no secret, just practice as much as you can!

bodaszilvia In reply to nevan1 [2013-01-01 21:39:50 +0000 UTC]
That's very exciting for me, i'm 100% self taught.. what did you learn at school?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
nevan1 In reply to bodaszilvia [2013-01-01 23:58:29 +0000 UTC]
i learned to use metal saw , to make different alloys with silver, copper and gold , we weld, we sculpt wax to make casts, we file, we polish, we produce our own tools, we crimp ( i got a lot of precious stone for this ). two of my own creations at school are these -> [link]
and this one [link] i'm ver proud of these because i did the design , it was free creations , its funnier to create than reproducing what the teachers want . If it wasn't that i was sick i would have made a lot . Now i'm ready to return to school and do my next work , i'll have to do a small box for a pendant that open ( to put a picture inside . its very fun , i really found my passion , i really want to be a jeweler in my life .

that sounds great!
These are the things i don't know yet, but some of them are on my learning-list
Sometimes it's good, because i had to find out myself how to make a locket using wire wrapping only, and i discover new ways, but sometimes i feel that i cannot make everything i want..
Though the photos are a bit too blurry, i like the pieces you linked, especially the owl!

i know what you mean and the picture are blurry because i have an old camera XD i would need someone from the photographie class in my school for that. Thank you , the pendant took me 2 days to do XD but i'm proud of it

yes they are, people want to buy them , the sad thing is that my shark ring cost to much for them and the owl pendant is not for sell because its my symbol XD

bodaszilvia In reply to nevan1 [2013-01-02 20:59:58 +0000 UTC]
hm.. could you make it using a cheaper metal? copper maybe?
owls are very popular too, i love them so much! I often make steampunk ones and they sell fast

nevan1 In reply to bodaszilvia [2013-01-02 23:17:02 +0000 UTC]
i can, i just need to buy the material , i just need to know which company my school buy their copper so will be able to do it, i just need to have free time too ( because i can't do personal stuff when i have something to do in my modul at school)

bodaszilvia In reply to nevan1 [2013-01-02 23:30:40 +0000 UTC]
oh my! that sounds too complicated
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
nevan1 In reply to bodaszilvia [2013-01-02 23:37:05 +0000 UTC]
it is because we need the material and he tools like the mold and the two kind of blowtorch ( big and small) which i can't have in my appartement . well, when i'll have the money for a true house, i'll buy little by little what i need to have my own workshop in my house, like this i would be able to work at home too
