theban also what is the particle's element of use?

Neutron if I remember correctly. It's somwhere in one of my note books; not sure what box those are in.

Neutron particles are neutral charged particles so basically the particle is not positive or negative although the element would be like hydrogen or tungsten

Beryllium now think of it; especially since HBT cells already have it in them.

I wonder how it would compare to Hydrogen based particle weapon the two elements do make Beryllium Hydride.

oh I see well Hydrogen is a gas and would be easier to make into a particle beam although its much less dense as the chemical formula points out BeH2 so for each 1 Beryllium there need to be 2 Hydrogen to keep things stable. I think this may do more damage than a Gyran weapon that relies on Negatively charged hydrogen atoms.

Well an HBT cell is a titanium casing with an interior beryllium sheath filled with hydrogen with a charge passed through it to create energy. I've lost so many notes over the last few moves so that's probably why I did it that way.
It is a possibility that it does; but without real world capability to check it especially since I don't think we'd get access to the Hadron Collider

Well there is a down side to these weapons the heat and electro static is a bitch to deal with. I frankly see these HBT cells as a small scale Zeropoint energy maker. I figured that they would use titanium and hydrogen to contain a nuclear weapon's destructive force and convert it to usable power.

Hmm; never thought of it as a ZPM but that does sound right.
The interesting thing is that no one really knows where the design comes from the in universe since both construction of the various types of power generators and rechargers are proprietary to Hildebrandt Technologies who don't allow anyone else to manufacture the stuff.

So it sounds like everyone can say make or maintain a HBT but not really understand it entirely. I mean how many people do you think build or make something yet know about its components or functions beyond what they are told?

Only HTech can make new cells. But they can easily be recharged most of the time depending; if it's just a a weapon energy cell most of the time it just comes with a charger and is good for a couple of hundred uses.
Too true; especially these days; everything is compartmentalized; that is one bad thing about assembly line manufacturing.

If thats true how did say Gyre well hell anyone come up with new engines and power cores for ships?

BOH-Games In reply to thormemeson [2017-07-07 02:30:49 +0000 UTC]
Hmm; Gyre is probably still operating the old cells and what not; of course they do have an ace in the hole so she might have figured out how to replicate the tech.
As for others HTECH will give specs on power runs and what not based off of the desired power that a purchaser wants that and an energy block for say a reactor on the ship is pretty standard.

Oh yeah Eve she gave them that technology although I doubt its any better than Htech. The Gyrans just know how to optimize a unit's output to the utmost. I'd call them masters of turbo charging a unit. Say do ships use fuel in this universe I have corvettes dependent on obtaining certain elements that could count as fuel? I am stunned no one has tried to say strong arm these HTECH guys.

Hmm; let's see - From the core book
11.18.2
FUEL TYPES
Fuel is what moves the universe; or at least the ships and vehicles that move people through it.
There are three basic types of fuel used by ships and auxiliaries.
Hydrogen – H
Hydrogen has been the staple fuel of most ships for thousands and thousands of years and is the cheapest and cleanest burning fuel but is quickly consumed.
Deuterium Oxide – D2O
D2O is the second most common fuel used but is also the “dirtiest” and increases wear and tear on whatever systems are using it [increase maintenance cost to 2% of the craft’s total value]. However it does increase the operating range of the craft.
Helium-3 – HE3
Helium-3 is the least common and most expensive type of fuel used by ships; it is also the rarest type and while not as damaging as D2O it does do some additional wear and tear on a ship’s systems [increase maintenance cost to 1.5%] however Helium-3 does extend fuel ranges by quite a bit.
As for HTECH nobody really knows where they physically are.

Oh good I used He3 in all the Gyran ships they usually siphon the stuff out of random gas giants. I wonder if I have the core book.
