Description
Vexel / Mixed Media image combining a personally customized vector illustration of the Periodic Table with an abstract acrylic painting . PSD file available for download at a resolution of 1800 x 1127px and without watermark directly on my website for free stock photos: freestock.ca/photoshop_resourc…For optimal use, the PSD file comes in several layers with textures applied as clipping masks above 3 of the main table design elements. For those who know how to use clipping masks, this means you can substitute other textures to create a completely different looking periodic table. Otherwise, this file comes with a few extra layers like global adjustments grouped together at the top and partial shadows for the table panels at the bottom.
I would like to thank fellow dA artist Lara Mukahirn (aka TheParasiticBandaid) for painting the abstract acrylic background I used for texturing. You can find more of her works here by clicking on her icon below:

EDIT 10/26/2013: Fixed a couple spelling mistakes in the official abbreviations for Boron and Neon, thanks for pointing them out

Thanks Eve, took a lot of patience and precision work in Illustrator, but now I can adapt that same vector in a wide variety of designs and textures

I would say the good part of 6 hours I have a Love Hate relationship with Illustrator, takes a whole lot longer to get things done right, but it also comes with much more precise tools once I'm able to convince my impatient childish self to shut the hell up LOL

Lol, fortunately that nightmare is 14 years behind me I have to admit though I had a helluva time spelling some of the elements especially towards the end!

For me it's "only" 5 years
The Periodic Table wasn't so horrible, cause you can just memorize it all. But actually doing chemical reactions and writing out the 'calculations' and such junk... That was hell, I never understood one bit of that

I vaguely remember having to name elements just purely based on their molecular structure, that was really annoying!

not an expert, but as far as I can see boron should be B and neon is Ne I'd have to reference to check them all and my eyes start to go goggly when I look, got the full thing on wikipeadia, I had to check myself to make sure I was right lol getting old and decrepit make you doubt yourself

Awesome thanks for proofreading If you see any other mistakes let me know, was a daunting task in itself to place all the elements together in Illustrator and my eyes went goggly too when cross-referencing everything
