Any train with an older design, I find they put a lot more care into style & craftsmanship back then

Beautiful perspective. I love old railways like this. There's some left here from the Reading blue mountain and northern railroad line.

Thank you kindly Tiffany Do you know if the Lehigh Gorge trail passes over an abandoned railway?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SomberOrangeDreams In reply to boldfrontiers [2016-11-05 17:32:41 +0000 UTC]

Yes, it is. Parts of it are abandoned. I don't even think it's in use anymore.
You know I totally forget about that trail.
That would be a good spot for photography and it's only about a 30 mile ride.

boldfrontiers In reply to SomberOrangeDreams [2016-11-05 17:36:21 +0000 UTC]

If you do let me know how it went Several access points I think, I was toying with the idea of hiking it but decided to explore Hickory Run some more as the Lehigh trail seems to go on a ways and don't know where the more scenic spots are.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SomberOrangeDreams In reply to boldfrontiers [2016-11-05 17:48:34 +0000 UTC]

I definitely will. I have to do more research myself because that trail is huge and I can only walk so far due to chronic pain so I want to know where the most scenic spots are too.

It's nice to see nature recapture parts that humans destroyed. It will only be another few thousand years until the metal is fully eroded. Great shot and nice trail!

Such a gorgeous scene, very different from the railways I'm used to seeing. I quite like your use of the tracks to lead your eyes off into the forest

Thank you very much Rachel. Gotta thank alltrails.com for giving me an idea of what to expect here, this seems to be the highlight of the railroad as it passes over a water stream with mossy planks
