Oh man, thank's so much for sharing. Puts me right back in there, with plenty of good memories, now that I've spent the morning going through the awesome pictures of your trip. Thank's so much! Ps. Next time you might plan a trip to Iceland, I recommend a trip to Greenland too. Kulusuk is not far by plane, and it's possible to accommodate with the locals there. And to see icebergs and polarbears etc

Thank you Maria. Memory from that place came with a bit of panic as I realized I lost the keys my overnight cabin near Grundarfjordur. Was an hour away maybe around 9PM, but I still stayed around this place for taking more photos because the magic of it outweighed my fear of being locked out from my sleeping quarters... plus I found the owner in the end with keys to unlock the cabin, so everything turned out well in the end

Definitely a country I want to return to sooner rather than later, spent 2 weeks and felt it wasn't enough. Thanks for recommending Greenland as a possible sidetrip, although I am also eyeing the Faroe Islands!

Heh, not to mean laugh at the trouble you went trough, but things tend to arrange themselves in Iceland. Spent a year there, and it definitely was and has been one of the strangest and best years of my life There's a lot magic aloof in Iceland If you ever need to find accommodation in Greenland, in that case I suggest you might want to consider contacting the anthropology department at the University of Reykjavik and ask advice from there, they had someone stationed in Kulusuk. Icelanders are quite flexible in things like this, and most of the time very happy to help!

This coast-line is so stunning. It doesn't matter how often I see it. Well composed.

Thank you very much! This came at a time I realized I lost my AirBnB cabin keys, and started to panic being an hour away around 8-9PM in case no one would be there on my return for spare keys. But you know what? I stuck around here for about an hour despite all that because the scenery was so beautiful... and wound up finding my AirBnB host later walking around her farm. She even recommended I walk around the property and I captured the following photo not yet uploaded on dA www.boldfrontiers.com/p4061636…

Seems like your rough situation turned out to be a blessing in disguise. That's a fantastic image you captured there. The clouds aligned that well with the tractor tracks? That's rare. They almost mirror them. That one is going straight to my faves once it's being uploaded to DA.

Oh I didn't even notice the parallel in the "cloud trails" (at least not consciously), thanks for pointing it out It's on my dA upload queue maybe a dozen submissions away, stay tuned!

Fantastic shot! It's nice to see photos from Iceland that don't have a heavy blue/grey filter, it really shows how colourful the land can be

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

boldfrontiers In reply to Feytoh [2017-06-05 04:32:38 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Rachel! Many of my photos straight of camera actually come with heavy blue tones, especially apparent in waterfall scenes with what are supposed to be whiter tones in flowing water. Good thing for the Photoshop RAW interface and ability to adjust white balance

Absolutely gorgeous scene and image!! You change much from the raw pic when you edit?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

boldfrontiers In reply to morningstarskid [2017-06-04 18:12:44 +0000 UTC]

Thanks Mark!! I don't touch the RAW files much except for 3 standard adjustments: White balance, lens distortion correction and removing color fringing. What I see as more technical adjustments so I can start with a blank slate to speak when merging the exposures for HDR, then Photoshop for fine tuning and more creative edits like contrast & color.
