"Wait for me!" Angie yells, as she runs across the tarmac. "You're not leaving without me!"
"What about the proposals?" I ask, as she pushes me up the ramp.
"I'll figure something out," she says, looking tired. Scooping her up, I run into the cockpit and deposit her into the copilot chair. She reaches the cubby in back, pulling out her flight suit, changing into it, though not before she moons me. Ignoring that - for the time being as I'm busy powering systems up, I let the Tower know we're ready for take off. The 'Quarter taxies into Runway 6, the long one for the powerful SSTOs like the 'Quarter.
"Shack when you get back," the Tower tells me. "You and the cute one."
Angie groans and I grin at her.
"You got it, Boss," I say as I apply maximum thrust to the hybrids* as the 'Quarter races down the runway. My skin's covered with goosebumps.
