Description Micro-Bionicle is a project where I take as much as I can from Bionicle, and make it in Minifig scale, or similar scales, in LEGO Digital Designer (Extended mode). Note: I often use "micro" as a technical scale term, and this isn't that, but the name is a pun on microbiotic, and they're so tiny compared to normal Bionicle MOCs, so yeah. I usually use Nano, Micro, Mini, and Macro as demonstrated in this Scalefig image:

These Rahi are roughly at Mini scale (a Toa Tahu and Matoran approximation are included to demonstrate scale). This is the first batch; I have already made others but haven't yet screengrabbed them, and plan to wait until I have a whole second batch ready. You can see some extra angles and versions, plus the actual LDD files, here:

I can't beleave Lego itself didn't think of smaller minifigur sized toa and sets.

They did, back from 2005 to 2007. They just didn't do well, I assume. Otherwise, they would have kept making them...

These things are amazing! Making things micro appears to be much harder than building them up or revamping, as you have to convey an appearance with very few pieces, and I think you nailed it with these! Even without labels, I could easily identify each of them. Great job!

how are the insects/mask attatched to the minifig head?

They aren't. But you could approximate it with those pieces with studs on the side, although those would need help (a round flat one-stud piece with hole in middle) connecting to the neck. For the record, although floating pieces is allowed in my style, there's no floating in the Rahi MOCs themselves, other than "helping LDD along" in the case of the tread tracks and the circular wrench pieces (mainly in the Gate Guardian's tail(s)); all those are connections that are possible in plastic (unlike the floating masks on the Scalefigs, which are included only to demonstrate scale and that those beetle pieces are 'masks').

Thanks. FTR, my earlier post was a bit misleading about the needing help to connect head to body part. That would only be true if the side-stud piece was to be attached to an actual minifig neck. The Toa and Matoran shown here don't use that, ergo no help would be needed. If that makes any sense. I might actually make some to go with the later batches, depending on if they look too silly lol.
