This is the first picture in a series called 'Bleed the trees', Which came from a concept I had been thinking about. The relationship between trees and flesh. How flesh would react if it was like a tree or how trees would look if they were like flesh. Quite an abstract idea. But I think it lead to some great pics!enjoy

Have you ever read The Sound Machine by Roald Dahl? Really disturbing story about a man obsessed with sound who believes there are many sounds in the world man cannot hear. He builds a machine to capture these sounds, and tries it out in his garden. What he hears is horrific, horrible screams. It transpires these screams coincide with every snip of his neighbours scissors as she prunes her roses. The next day he takes an axe to a tree and hears the deep, pained moan the tree gives out. He rushes home to call a doctor, who listens with headphones as he prepares to swing the axe again. However, before he can, a branch falls out of the tree and crushes the machine.
It was a pretty creepy story.
