Description This is the first Bonsai that I completed (it's also the same tree used for my avatar, but a few years later).

This bonsai is an informal upright style. It's probably a little ragged around the edges, but the shape is there.

Tree: Juniper Squamata
Age: 5 Years Approx.
Shaped: 2004

Wow....this is cool. it's been growing for 5 years...man anything I get usually lasts about 5 days.
I love the trunk (if that is the correct term in bonsai language)

I have this theory that men (and possibly women) generally develop a green thumb when they get married... I don't have a lot of evidence to support this... but it seems to hold true at least part of the time... I know it was true for me...

The trick i've discovered to keeping plants alive... is to keep them at your folk's, or somebody who actually looks after plants, and just visit them on a regular basis...

And yeah... it's still a trunk...

Okay...being a woman...that theory just flew out the window. I have a major brown thumb. Well actually I'm just too darn lazy to water the plants and as for the man, plants aren't his thing. Maybe I should keep the plants at the neighbors, they are a lot closer Does Helly have a green thumb?

Yeah she does actually... hers leans more towards herbs and anything that can be eaten...

Guess I can write off that theory...?

This one really is getting better with time. I love how it's filled out so much more.

(has it already been that long since you started???)
