Anyway, after taking a quick look at the poll i set about two weeks ago [link] , i would appear the Ripper has won the OCT Auditions [link] by a long shot. HURRAY !
I didn't put a lot of work into this ref sheet, but it did came out pretty good OwO
If i make the pick and enter the Tournament, i'll probably make my pages in B&W/gray, like i did on the left side of the sheet.
Maybe play on the shadows a little bit.
As for the Ripper's back story, it will be revealed as the Tournament goes... i don't want to brag, but i think i came up with a rather interesting story and i don't want to spoil it by just giving it away in one piece >v< Let's just say it will make the character more interesting as i go along...

You know for some odd reason the man in the picture has a HUGE connection to Ripper's pastβ¦Could it be that he and the piano player are one and the same? Or did they have a very close connection, like father and son? If that's the case (for either theory) it would certainly explain why Ripper has an affinity for classical music.

I had a feeling that was the case, but that leaves other questions unanswered though, like "How did he end up that way?" and "Why did he do all those things?" But as you said his past would be shown throughout the comic and I have a strong suspicion that the woman in his memories has something to do with that. though I kind of wonder will he meet any of the other characters? Like Emma Dawn the mind reader and Ryan Black the shadow welder? Cause I just realized that Ripper is hacking up the black blood that he came into contact earlier and he's loosing the power to be able to see his memories, and I thought that since Emma has the ability to 'see' into a person's past he (Ripper) would later come into contact with Emma and her partner, also since Emma is a bit of a bleeding heart she would help him although Ryan would be highly suspicious of him undoubtedly.

Reading Ripper's story and seeing his hat made me think of a magician's hat with a bunch of bunnies cutely jumping out of it. Combine that with the "I've got a theory" song from the Buffy musical episode
Anya: "I've got a theory...it could be bunnies."
Tara: "...I've got a theo-"
Anya: "Bunnies aren't just cute like everyone supposes. They got them hoppy legs and twitchy little noses. And what's with all the carrots? What do they need such good eyesight for anyways? Bunnies. Bunnies. It must be bunnies!"

Everyone: "There's nothing we can't face..."
Anya: "...except for bunnies."
and my mind thought of a magic show themed torture room where the bunnies were the tormenters.

His father, his uncle, his grandfather, his brother. All those can be true, but my money is on that the picture is of him. You can't change all your features but mutilating yourself.

Well i guess it would still work, i mean brain damaged people are fed using feeding tubes as well,
and they often suvive longer than they'd wish.
As for his skin, there's an other cause for that, to be revealed during the Tournament. ^^
