Description This image relates to my own Stargate fanfiction universe known as Stargate: The Fifth Race and is to be considered non-canon in regards to the main Stargate universe. My series is set in 2014 and this and other images establishes what happened in the interum between and after SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe. The series does not consider Stargate Origins as canon.

The image was acquired via Star Wars: Empire at War with the Stargate - Empire at War: Pegasus Chronicles mod installed.

In 2002, Earth's first interstellar starship, the X-303 Prometheus, was launched albeit unceremoniously after an attempted hijacking by the NID. Afterwards the Prometheus had a distinguished career for four more years, serving most famously as the lead attack vessel at the Battle of Antarctica in 2004 under the command of General George Hammond. Prometheus was destroyed in 2006 during the early stages of the Ori Crusade while attempting to rescue Dr. Daniel Jackson from the planet Tegalus. The ship was destroyed by an Ori designed/Tegalus built attack satelite armed with an Ori beam weapon. Forty of Prometheus's crew were lost, along with its Captain, Col. Lionel Pendergast.

Fortunately Prometheus had served its original purpose as a test bed for reverse engineered alien technology and as Earth's first interstellar vessel. After the end of the Ori Crusade in 2007, the Office of Homeworld Security, or OHS, began looking to expand Earth's starfleet beyond the BC-304 Daedalus Class. The first class of ship they wanted was a dedicated ship fighter as opposed to the Battleship/carrier hybrids of the BC-304. A ship that could go toe-to-toe with even the large Ha'tak Motherships or even larger foes such as Wraith Hive Ships and Ori Battlecruisers. While still mulling over ideas in 2008, Colonel Samantha Carter suggested the Prometheus design be reconsidered as it was already a proven model and would only require minimal modifications to meet the requirements the OHS wanted. Carter and a few other Stargate Command scientists quickly drew up modified designs, presenting them with what would become the BC-305, the Prometheus Mark II, later simplified to the Prometheus II.

The Prometheus II, compared to the X-303, is visibly indistinguishable from its late older brother, save for the addition of four Mark I Ion Cannon turrets on its dorsal and ventral sides. It does sport a smaller 302 Bay however to accomodate the addition of the Asgard Beam weapons and the Ion Cannons, only capable of carrying 4 F-302s as opposed to the original Prometheus's 8 and the Daedalus class's 16.

The Prometheus II was built and launched from the Delta Site, which has become the SGC's offworld R&D and Manufacturing site. Advancements in the process of mining, processing, and manufacturing the parts necessary to build ships offworld have made the process of building Tau'ri vessels much faster and more streamlined, new ships being capable of being built in roughly half a year or less. Prometheus II wouldn't launch until 2010 as priority had been given to the mass construction of additional BC-304s. Due to delays in building even more BC-304s (as well as having to prioritize making new ships for the Russians and the Chinese), the next BC-305 got pushed back to 2014. The name for the next BC-305 has already been selected: The Lionel Pendergast, the Captain of the original Prometheus.

Partially disregard my previous message on this. the Legacy books are canon. I was just worried that I couldn't keep the Wraith as bad guys. But no, there are ways to do it. We're good.

If u do decide to make the Legacy series /along with the 3 novellas that take place after them), just keep in mind that there were a number of goofs and inconsistencies that happen in them. The wiki does a pretty good job at pointing them out. Also, as a request, at the very least, hav relationships between characters in your fanfic. MGM specifically stated they don’t do relationships and it was pretty frustrating to me that they didn’t happen (one big one was O’Neil and Carter, the back and forth between the 2 drove me nuts! Same with Sheppard and Teyla). And without spoiling anything, they did something to Rodney and Keller that really triggered me

I think what I may end up doing then is have generally the same outcome of the novels (at least in terms of galactic politics) but with some notable alterations. As far as Sam/Jack, that's a paring i support but it's still a problem given their ranks and the rules on fraternization. I do plan on exploring the Jack/Sam relationship although it won't be a "front and center" kind of thing.

I was actually never a Sheppard/Teyla shipper. I leaned a miniscule towards Sheppard/Weir but not enough to be called a shipper though. McKay/Keller, oh all the way. I don't think you'll be upset with what i do with them.

I haven't but I do have access to the Stargate Wiki. I'm debating as to whether or not i want to include that in my universe as canon. I know the war ended in a sort of armistice with half the Galaxy belonging to the humans and the other half belonging to the Wraith.
