The lighting isn't very good here.
Have to be careful shooting under an umbrella which means you need to bring a under lighting. I learned the hard way when I shooting a model with a hat for the first time. created a bad shadow on her face

Your right! And thats what was missing, i was looking at this image for like 30 minutes trying to figure it out... and it boiled down to light. thanks for the heads critique, problem is i cant find the right exposure when directing the light at the face...

do you have a reflector?
If not make a cheep one for right now... I made one when I misplaced my reflector. cardboard and tape aluminum to it. worked for me
