Description
Apparantly, Cranky's size changing potions had some unforseen side-effects. Not that Tiny seems to mind.I always wanted to draw the redesigned Tiny even back when I drew that group pic. There, I went with the classic version. I'd still like to know why Nintendo decided to redesign her so drastically instead of making the new version a character of her own. She now looks more like Candy's little sister rather than Dixie's.
Anyway, here are both Tinys in one pic. Be careful while looking at it, or else this paradoxon might break the fabric of the universe.

Maybe I have a headcanon that the older Tiny was actually just using the Tiny name for her pop singing career, and her name is actually Lolly Kong??

Not sure what lollies have to do with anything, but if that's what you want to believe...

IKR? I used to pick her anytime I play DK64.
She makes platforming so much less stressful, especially when having to jump on tiny platforms above lava
in Llama's Temple in Angry Aztec.

No, I don't see any problem with that.

Even if they'd do that, it would probably be more about Donkey Kong Jr. than about Tiny.

Iβm actually new to the fandom (I knew about the characters and I liked them but I wasnβt able to play many games) so I was surprise to see her random puberty
I love the new design but I prefer the old one since I think itβs cuter and fits her name and personality more.

i always thought that she grew up i mean it happens somtime right so puberty i guess been awhile since 64. besides i doubt this is an insult to rare and them forgetting DKC after all he kremlings where in super mario sluggers not produced by rare. they even kept the designs rare made for dddy kong and dixie but removing the R for rare and replacing it with nintendo. as for tiny she may not be dixie "sister" but might be adopted in my view. making her a whole new species from dixie. besides if wwe go by my view then this is about how old she is then any potions. my question is how did so many people come to the potion idea first? with as many things telling you that its just a teenage girl doing what any would? earrings paint nails oh and go on adventure skydive and whatnot. yep like every girl i know.

Basically, I agree. I like the other design, but it's just not Tiny anymore.

Nice job on the art! I really enjoy your style.
As for the redesign: I don't think Nintendo has ever shared a reason why they revamped her instead of ditching her. But speculation is always fun!
Here are a few possible reasons it's Tiny v.2 instead of someone new:
1.) To avoid her becoming a "vanishing character". People realizing Tiny is gone, and wondering why, and all of that.
2.) Simply as an insult to Rareware's continuity of the franchise.
3.) The kong family is LARGE enough.
4.) Figuring it'd be a hilarious play on her name. Tiny Kong, now one of the tallest kongs out there! Ha Ha Ha.

Interesting theories. But...
1. And instead making people wonder what happened to her design? Odd.
2. In this case, they could simply ditch the whole DKC continuity and stick to their Jungle Beat stuff.
3. Never stopped Nintendo (or anyone else) to add more characters to any other franshise.
4. Yeah, that must be it. XD
I guess I'll just stick to my "size changing potion"-explanation for now.

From the kongs' point of view, I agree; definitely a potion!
Maybe it was one of Chunky's potions.

I am thirding this as believe me I have a million in-canon theories myself.
1) Could be side effect of the size change potion, as you said.
2) Perhaps Tiny herself discovered that she can kick her size change ability in reverse to taunt Dixie! XD
3) Could have accidentally taken one of Chunky's potions.
4) The potion IS called Teenie Tiny Potion...perhaps Cranky got confused on the TEENy part! XD

I've always suspected that she took a Chunky potion by accident.
But now I'm forced to suspect the TEENie Tiny potion, too!

XD Yeah, I freakin' RESEARCHED that shit and couldn't find anything!
All we know is that Rare, for ONCE, didn't do it (Barrel Blast was in production before DKRS) and that Japan was not informed of Tiny being Dixie's little sister (it WAS just a blurb in the instruction book).
Mostly I'm gonna go with Nintendo implementing a "No New Kongs" rule considering the DKC series makes even the Sonic series look tame (at least Sonic was PLAYABLE in all his games)! Combined with a lack of attractive but not overdone female Kongs.
I admit, when I was about to buy Barrel Blast I said "Oh wait, there's no cute Kong girls...well maybe Candy is playable...no...hey who is THAT! ...TINY!? You mean THAT Tiny?! ...SOLD!
"
More surprising: HAVE YOU SEEN HER SUPER SLUGGERS ANIMATIONS!? I *STILL* can't get over her hip wiggle!

Yeah, I remember seeing some very particular Tiny animations, haha. I don't own any of those kong-cameo games, but I've watched gameplay footage of them.

I think the reason for the redesign being so drastic can be attributed to 2 things.
1) I remember way back when Donkey Kong 64 was released, Tiny got a lot of criticism for being a "rip-off" of Dixie Kong. I think one reason that Nintendo wanted Tiny to have a new look was to separate her look more from Dixie's. However, as to why the design change was so drastic...
2) In Japan, there was never any mention of Tiny being Dixie's little sister (or them even being related at all). Rareware may have made them sisters, but Nintendo (or at the very least, Nintendo of Japan) had no idea the two were even supposed to be related. This could also explain the current confusion surrounding whether or not the current Donkey Kong is, in fact, the original one or if he's a grown-up version of Donkey Kong Jr., since Nintendo seems to switch back-and-forth and that and can't make up their minds.

Interesting. Though that still doesn't quite explain why Nintendo opted for a redesign instead of making the new Tiny a new character altogether.
Still, thank you.
