Great article! Thanks for using my suggestion.
I had to find out a lot by trial and error. I wish dA explained some things more, or had a little popup window when you hovered over the icon, that explained some of those icons for those of us who might not know.

$namenotrequired you just made my dream come true I've been so annoyed at having to search my group messages to see where something is and now you have found a GM script to make it easy

Good ones. Not enough people know how much dA is customizable.
And I really like this series of articles. I don't know if now it's different, but when I joined dA it was a bit overwhelming and unknown. I mean: it's such a vast website, with so many possibilities, that I was lost as to what I could do and how I could do it when I first joined, and there wasn't really an explanation anywhere. Any new deviant's inbox should contain a number of Hot Topic messages linking to, you know, tutorials about how to browse the site, submit a journal or a deviation, use Sta.sh and join groups, stuff like that. Maybe the Did You Know section could write those tutorials, the FAQ isn't always noob-friendly.
Also, a Did You Know about Groups' admin classes I think would be great. The Manage Members section can be pretty tricky, especially the "exceptions" part of it; and it's a pretty powerful tool within the Group, so knowing how to use it well might help a lot of people!

And don't forget the warning: If dA starts acting wonky, make sure to disable any script before blaming the site

Heh yes, true. But I bet money people will see odd shit happen and blame the site, when it's just a userstyle that is to blame

devianttidy is a bad one for that, it modifies so much!

Hehe yup.
While I love how customizable browsers have become, not many people realize that with great power comes great responsibility and all that shit. A person should know how and when to disable things in order to be sure of what is causing them any problems.
If I remember, that devianttidy script caused some issues in the forum updates? My main problem is that I have so many scripts and things that it's a pain in the ass to find any problem customization

Suddenly I understand why you'd not want to post any more userscripts
Oh yeah, it did. I usually try turning it off first because it affects so much stuff (it was even forcing journals to screen width, what the what).
If only debugging tools were more refined.

Heh yeah. Once upon a time, things were simpler. The site, peopleβI could safely put scripts out, and they would last a while, and people understood that if shit messed up, blame the script first, and occasionally the site was to blame.
But now? Hah, people blindly install scripts and expect magic

Haha yeah, totally.
Just make them all mature content so the kids can't find them

Brilliant idea!
But to be fair, I'm not the best script writer, and some of my scripts have limitations or other oddities

Hey, I don't even know enough JS to write scripts.
