Description
Ok nothing new here...I decided to put this up because it's my favorite angle of the BorgBunny.
This was actually rendered while the bunny was still under construction but nearing completion. You'll notice a few questionable rendering artefacts if you look closely.
The Palm tree is a standard growth from Vue d'Esprit (the renderer), and just in case you're wondering..... nope it's not growing out of the bunny's ar$e

That is so cool!! I wished I knew how to use 3d rendering programs so I could make stuff like that. But for now all I can do is this [link]

thanks! 3D can take a bit of getting used to if you've not done it before. But, as with anything, it's all about practice and experimentation.

hmm, maybe if the tree had a shadow it wouldn't look so much like an overgrown arse hair........ XD

hmm, been trying wings - love it to death, exporting to povray works, but its very tedious, a 15MEG VERTEX instruction is a bit much
damn, you can afforde vue'd espirit?, or did you get a "free" copy.....?

I own Vue d'esprit 4 I purchased Vue s'Esprit 3 and upgraded it. I don't have Vue 4 Professional though... that's the expensive one.

Wow, that'd make suck a cool PS2 character The detail you've put in the wheel and arms is excellent. Lol, the palm tree got ass-imilated, eh?

Thanks. The tree is a standard item that is generated by Vue d'Esprit (the rendering application). It's a nice piece of scenery.
As such, I can only take credit for where the tree gets put!

Yeah, but the bunny is SO much more impressive!
Lol, you're lucky, you get trees in your application... mine just has these randoms, but no scenery. And yours looks so much easier to use... *sigh*

what's the application you use?
I use Wings3D for the actual modelling - it's free and superb! I recommend it.

hehe, don't worry... i can get messy very quickly in most 3D applications.

Wow... I use Realsoft3D. I got it with a magazine. Its the first 3D program I've used so far, and it'll do for now, but it deals with polygons more than squares, so it gets very messily very easily

Has your program's perspective ever gotten so screwed that if you rotate the view-point, everything gets stretched through and behind you? That happens a lot when I'm animating and using the camera's perspective...
Yay, messy! XD like the time I tried to animate a chicken spinning around madly and the eyes suddenly shot out the ass... hehe

Wow! sounds like your chicken was a serious contortionist and unsuitable for your 3D modelling requirements. The only available solution would be to take the chicken back for a refund or exchange.

Thanks, Gala.
Yeah, the palm is an object that comes built into the software with it's own palm image textures, etc - that's why the style looks sort of different.

i see the palm a little complicated, the rest of body is more syntetized than the palm ^^¿
i like very much the metal textures

hehe, crazy work, man really like it , but again I think taht can be better the depth, the palm have to much focus an this break the unity of the character.

BrainCode In reply to A78 [2004-07-14 12:21:42 +0000 UTC]
yeah. you're right. I've not experimented much with focus. Vue d'Esprit does have the ability to provide focal blur, but it doesn't make it easy to use. If it could let me select an object or point in space that was to be the focal point for the lense it would make it a hell of a lot easier, especially as the render times are much much greater. It uses ray tracing methods to calculate the blur rather than any special effect algorythm.

"running with scissors can be dangerous"
That's why it's become an extreme sport.
