I love the perspective and the way he takes up just about the entire image. I feel like he's invading my space and I love it~ ;D Kudos on all of the detail in all of those suction cups as well.

Love what you did with the tentacles. They remind me or mushrooms. Which is a good thing.

Excellent detail! Especially on the octopus's suction cups! The texture you did on it's skin makes (as well as the limited composition) really make it feel like it's a monster from the deep!

Thanks for comment! Yes, it is huge and old octopus from the depths I want to make a series of see monsters - i think about see horses and jellyfish.

Normally I don't promote myself like this, but you should stop by and take a look at my gallery. I've been doing a series of underwater pictures for about a year now, the theme being sea creatures as aliens. Specifically the series as been about jelly fish and me trying to prove they came from another planet and are invaders here.

WOW! Your gallery is great! Especially the jellyfish! WOW! I lost my words
I like your theory about aliens jellyfish. It fit to me, because they are really wierd

Thank you >.<' it's just a theory I had considering their anatomy and how they are perceived by most of the world. I was hoping it might give you some ideas for your potential series.
The way you drew this octopus though, it definitely has a monstrous feel to it with your attention to detail and the composition you chose. I can see you moving on and doing more octopus, squids, sharks...

Thanks! Your theory is very interesting and fit to me! Jellyfish are now the second kind of aliens for me (the first are mushroom - soooo weird creatures).
IΒ΄m fascinated with sea life, especialy nvertebrate animals! So I hope for many pictures

What's funny is I've been playing a mushroom game, about mushrooms being alien people on my DSI lol.
If you ever get the chance you should watch some of the documentaries and nature shows on sea life. You can get a good idea of the proper environment and about the way the creatures move.

Haha, that is really funny coincidence! I'm big fan of documentary movies, especially from the deep seas. The friend of mine is a famous underwater movie maker and he promises to leaarn me how to swim with mask! I will see the sea on my eyes!
I drawing only for three years so I'm really amateur and hope in some progress. Every free time I sit and draw ))

Ooooo... if you get more familiar with it you should definitely get yourself an underwater camera and take your own reference! That would be so fun and so cool! (sorry got a little bit excited there lol)
You have a natural talent for drawing. I am very sure that the more you work at it the better you will get. And, your watchers should be good at giving you some helpful critiques to help you improve on your work. I'll do what I can to help when I see new postings of pieces

Thanks! Your advices mean a lot for me. I use drawing to run from this reality and for relaxation because in real world I'm a lawyer and I must be serious, realistic and other stupid lawyerskills. But I have not time, I wish I could only sit outside and draw and draw...
So I'm sort of autodidact in drawing so any advice or critique is welcome

Really your a lawyer? Wow... that's quite prestigious! I can see how drawing would be a nice escape from that to let yourself relax and enjoy what your doing and be stress free. It can also be a good way to let yourself work through the stress when your working on a harder case.

lol! Now I'm articled clerk for my own mother as a boss. It is not so prestigious, it is hard job, lot of administration and in summary - it is routine like any other jobs... Next yearI will have a final exam and after this, I will be an advocate.
But I donΕ₯ like it, I want to draw all my life time! It is like drugs, you start and can't stop

I'm surprised you didn't go to art school then! I did, I went through 4 years of art college and got my BFA. I'm actually enrolled back in school though for a second bachelors degree in psychology though, which will help me move on to my masters. Anyways, I love art as a career, it's just very hard doing it freelance like what I'm doing now (well sort of, it's only just starting to take off). I do highly recommend keeping a stable job (such as being a lawyer >.<') to help pay the bills and freelancing as a night job (which is what I'm working towards). I also think it helps keep your passion alive for it... I've seen too many freelance artists who ended up hating what they do because they have to use it for their soul survival.

You are sooo lucky girl, that you still study! I work for three years now and it is very difficult for me. I was in quiet complicated situation when I went to college because my family (but this is public conversation, so thats all what I can say is that I have zero support). Plus the system of art school in Czech republic is very complicated and unfriendly.
I love to draw since I was little but not only art school are complicated in CZ country. When I was in first class I draw a town with houses like mushroom and I teacher said to me: you must draw what you see! This is not reallity so you can not draw it! I was frustrated so much, that I ended my attempts about drawing ) Now I know that the teacher was an idiot.
I think the same like you - when hobby became job, it will destroy every happiness and it will be turn to routine. So I hope that my job bring me more money so I can buy art stuff (copics are really expensive!). But again - you must be very lucky that you do what you love!

That all sounds very similar to things I've heard going through school. I'm lucky in the sense that most of my family was/ has been very supportive of my decision. Especially my mother. But, some other members of my family haven't always been. Through out high school I had teachers tell me the same thing, "you have to draw from life" "don't draw from your head" it turns out in college they liked us drawing things from our imaginations, but they taught how to properly find the reference we needed to make it look "realistic".
I'd have to say that I'm lucky enough with it. I want it to get more attention so I can do more with it as a career. I've only been out of my first degree 2 years though and it takes a LONG time to build up a freelance business like that. I'm lucky though that I've been able to get the couple of commissions I have over the past year.
I think though that you will continue to get better and better with your work and I'll try my best to help critique you and help you improve with each new piece you put up >.<'
