Description Here's my rendition of Two-Face. I experimented and came up with a way to color this that was fun and easy, and appealing to my eye.

I like how his scarred side came out. That was pretty much a complete accident, but, I pushed it and it came out great.

Let me know what you think.

EDIT: I changed the expression around a little thanks to the comment by

Looks awesome man. I especially like the shading on the pistol. I like the coloring on his bad face too. Looks pretty nasty.

Thanks. I was really trying to emulate the texture of the gun. As for the face, I was totally debating over making it red, green or purple. I decided to make it like if someone's face did get horribly burned, and healed all messed up.

I'm glad you dig the pic. This is part of a larger project.

I think you made the right choice. I don't like it when they make his face look too cartoony. He got splashed by corrosive acid, not Acme Brand acid.

I haven't minded the different versions over the years. The worst by far is the Tommy Lee Jones incarnation. Not only wasn't the character well developed and one dimensional, the makeup and clothes just took it absurdly too far. Although, I didn't mind seeing Drew Barrymore and Debbie Mazar in skimpy outfits!

The turning point for me was seeing Tim Sales version of Two-Face. All scarred and charred and burned, and no hair. It was really refreshing.

haha. Yeah. Not to mention the fact that The Riddler and Two-Face were basically just The Joker in that movie.

The Sale version was definitely the inspiration behind my versions of Two-Face too. I don't put the hair in there either. You'd think if it was enough to burn up his skin, it would do a whole lot more than discolor his hair.

That's how I think. For hair, I really like the animated version.

really snazzy piece man. you seen the pics of two face from dark knight? Just of an action figure, but damn, I am quite disappointed. I am hoping its just a crappy toy and that the real deal will be better.

I'm sure the real deal will be great. The toys NEVER live up to the counterpart, unless they are special figures, or something.

The article I read said that they were using make-up, and CG elements to complete the look. I also like the fact that he's not going to be duo colored. His clothes will be scarred, just like his face.

I think Eckhart is a pretty good actor, so I think that he will make whatever he looks like menacing and awesome!

i certainly have faith in the actor, and hope the clothes will look quite battered and such. he just doesnt look crazy like two-face does, just scarred on his face. his eye looks gruesome though, so thats pretty cool

Wow, awesome, man! You should put a nice gotham esque background on it. Oh and it seems strange that the gun comes all the way down to the lower shin. But thats little. Good work! =]

I kinda exaggerated the gun, made it look bigger. Plus I gave him longer arms than regular proportion.

I have a definite plan for this, and I will post a journal as soon as I get more done.

Thanks for the kind words!!

I love how you took the Two-Face from the animated series and made it your own. After tinkering with the expression you really captured the essence of him. Diggin the pin-stripes as well.

Thanks, man. I was really trying to something different, but, keeping with what people are familiar with. I love the black and white, since it's symbolically the perfect fit for him.

Thanks for the comment. And I like the pinstripes too.

Other than that, working on some stuff for my portfolio for Comic-Con in Seattle.

Why, you got something in the works?

a bit more could have been done on his expression, i mean he is scarred and angry, also psychotic...

but overall it's good..

now this is better, not exactly what i had in mind, but delivers the goods none the less. great work, also i was going to make a comment about the ginormous gun, but someone already beat me to it...haha

BrattyBen In reply to D37HB01 [2008-02-22 03:00:27 +0000 UTC]

I drew the gun big like that, because I wanted to play up a bit of the gun detail. The whole thing is basically an exaggeration.
