So today I saw that Alan Moore who wrote Watchmen, among other things, had done a voice appearance on The Simpsons. Then an idea hit me in the face. What if I did a pic of Homer Simpson dressed as Alan Moores creation; Rorschach [link] I hadn't seen anyone else do it before, so I jumped in.

The coat took me the longest to draw using the bloody mouse in photoshop (I really need a drawing tablet). I had to stretch out Homers arm so I could fit the coat belt strap in without it looking stupid. I was going to have him, in his other hand, holding a jelly donut with the iconic blood stain on top (though in the book it was a smiley face badge) , but it would be jelly from the donut instead. Ditched that idea so I could have him with his hands in his coat. And I couldn't find a font close enough to match the fonts used for Rorschachs' speech in the comic, so I used something close. It was done in Simpsons style. I used 1 reference pic of Homer, for the shape of his head, how far his stomach stuck out and the simpsons shoes. But I used like 8 different pics of Rorschach from all different angles because I wanted to get his coat right. And when I first made the canvas to do the pic on I knew that it was too small but I forgot and went on with it, so now I have a lower res pic...idiot. I'll try making a higher res version but I don't think I can do it without losing quality.
