This is just a quick guide I put together, designed to support my pixel horse tutorial. I noticed a lot of people keep there horse drawings as a flat colour, so hopefully this will help show where tone varies

LOVE this, not just for pixel horses but as a reminder for any type of coloring. I still forget that there are brown/gray variations across the coat, especially in the face and nose. I'm saving this to my computer for future reference.

Wow, this is a great help for everything about horse colours! One thing though, where is a horses flank? As you can see, not so great a anatomy!

The horses flank is basically the whole area where the hind legs join onto the body

Yes I agree! When I do my colour changes, I pay attention to the same details (only with wilder colours xD) to make sure it comes out looking lifelike.
