Description
So once i got chance the first thing I decided to do was to start taking parts off to clean up at home. A few small parts had already gone home and by now I had moved into my new home and so the idea was to get as much as I could off and take it home.So I decided that a good start could be made on the sandboxes and the linkage for them. So this was taken before I got to work. My good friend Dan arrived a little later to give me a hand and we managed to get three of them off in the end including the linkage from the driver's side.

Such a fantastic thing to own.
What's the situation regarding where you keep the locomotive? Do you keep it with a heritage line or somewhere private, and where will you be able to run it when it's complete?

I am a member at Ribble Steam Railway and so it lives there though majority of it is scattered between there, my house and my Uncle's as I have tried to bring things closer to home to work on rather than travelling down there all the time. The other issue is space down there. Like any preserved railway space is always at a premium so I was always looking at what I could do or remove that I could take home even if it was for storage before taking back to work on when space/time was right.
When it is eventually up and running I'd like to think that Ribble would be happy to add it to the loco roster despite how small it is in comparison to the other engines. It will easily be one of the smallest on site if not the smallest. However I have a good idea what these 10" Barclays are capable of.
It will be also available for hire to other railways be it a few weeks, months or even for just a special event. There are a few places that would be favourable for it to make a visit as it wouldn't be taxing for it.

It's depressing when an engine is worse off than an idling wagon Β Well you've got guts taking this project onΒ but great to see the promising progress so farΒ Β

A big part of me just felt truly sorry for it. Especially when I can remember what it looked like back at Carnforth. Ok I didn't realise it wasn't a runner back then. But it was always immaculate. Time to bring that shine back.

I have met a few and even heard the comment of "what's the point?" but then I think to myself that these are probably the sort of people who;
A: Don't like change
B: Have never achieved anything worth talking about
C: Don't like to see others achieve anything
D: Got bugger all else in their lives
So let them think and say that but I am of the gang of the ever optimist that everything should run and I mean EVERYTHING
Man designed and built things to do a purpose, man can repair and restore for said item to run again. It is the Naysayers who piss me off.
Granted and I am not blind to the fact that money is always the key to it all....However that doesn't matter if you have it but don't have the time and effort to be able to use it to progress.
It'll get there slowly. And it will be worth it in the end as I know it will never get back into the same condition it is in now

Better than not running at all!
HAve you an idea of what might be the cause of such a short turn over? In such as short time there is a chance it didn't fire on all cylinders. I am guessing you mean the Class 37 right?

Not for some time. My preserved vehicles than in daily use on a farm.
Once the building has been sorted we are looking at getting the vehicles sorted properly and taking them to shows.
