“Are you alright?”

“Alright!” I yelled. I turned around and saw a girl I didn’t recognise.

“I’m sorry….who are you?” I asked.

She picked up some of the letters on the floor and smiled at me.

“You must be Max” she said.

I nodded.

“Are you looking for Nikki?” she asked.

I nodded once more.

“These letters always fall out of place. When I left the house in a rush again everything was bummed into and all over the floor. That’s what I get for piling them all up” she laughed.

“I’m sorry but where’s Nikki?” I asked.

“Look at the date of that letter. I’m not going to even ask how you got in here, but I probably left the door open or something.” She said while putting all of Nikki’s stuff on the table.

I looked at the letter and saw it dated over ten months ago.

“She left?” I asked.

“Didn’t you?” she asked back.
