Description Photo is quite blurry due to the lighting and the awkward size of the painting, making it hard to get a decent shot with detail.

Anyway, the leaves are almost done, I'm now waiting for the entire painting to dry, I'll then put a couple of thin glazes over the leaves, especially those that are in the shadows, and then once the glaze has dried, I will go back and finish the figure (just a bit of tonal work and detailing) AND then I'll add a few more highlights on some of the leaves! So, not long to go, or at least no where near as long as I've spent on it so far. In the mean time I've got another painting on the go to work on, and I will start another 2 paintings.

This painting is 2m x 1m,

Oil on wood

The leaves look amazing - you must have infinite patience!
I have used glazing very rarely, so look forward to seeing how it turns out - and hopefully pick up a few tips.

Yeah I've only just started using glazes myself, I'm finding it useful for these leaf paintings, especially at this size, because painting all of the different colours of the leaves in the right tone is so time consuming, so I'm finding it easier to paint all the leaves, and then add a glaze or two to bring them all together.

I know what you mean about the leaves and I have only tried small areas.  Look forward to seeing how it turns out.
I'm thinking about using glazes to increase the sense of perspective, either a light one to make parts seem more distant, or a darker one to bring parts nearer.  Not sure if this is the right way around but I guess I will have to try it out. It can always be wiped off if it doesn't work as long as underneath is well dry.
