Gazing out at the field, a young lynx stood watching under cover of the bleachers above him, not wanting to be seen by anyone. He had gone through and gotten enough photos for his assignment, but wanted to spend some time during the remainder of the game getting other footage. With his camera out and poised, his eyes were intently focused on this 'other' thing, one of the linebackers, a big bruiser of a guy by the name of Nathan Beckwith.
As the defensive line gathered for the next play, Elliot held onto the fence in front of him as he waited anxiously for the whistle to blow. It was the final quarter and the college home team, the Krover University Knights, was ahead by less than a touchdown. With the third down beginning, anything to stop a first down would be critical. Once the ball was sent to the quarterback, all it took was a simple pass to one of the four open receivers to turn the game on its head.
But as Nathan broke free of his opposing lineman, the seven-foot behemoth of a Siberian tiger all dressed in the intimidating black and red uniform thundered into the pocket. With eyes set on the scrawny QB, he lunged. For such a big player, the tiger was agile enough to grab the quarterback from around the shoulder and bring him down hard…hard enough to cause a fumble.
Elliot couldn’t believe what was unfolding. Picture after picture he took of the entire play, not wanting to miss a single moment. A great commotion broke out as another player from the home team dove to gain possession of the ball resulting in a game-sealing turnover. The lynx had to chuckle as he saw Nathan removing himself and quite the hefty bulge off of the squashed quarterback shortly after.
The game ended quickly after the sack made by Nathan. The home team scored yet other touchdown, winning the game with ease. But even as the crowd was beside themselves with cheering and applause, the shy lynx had taken off, the image of Nathan burning vividly in his mind.
Rushing to get out of the stadium, Elliot knew he needed to get out of there before the crowds formed at the entrances and main concourse. But usually hurrying out of there early meant he wouldn't have to run into him.
Anthony.
…and his band of scummy lackeys.
“Hey guys, it’s gayboy!”
Elliot felt his body tense up nervously as he heard none other than Anthony's voice call out to him from behind. Pulling his sweatshirt hoodie around him tighter, the lynx quickened his pace, not even entertaining a chance to look back.
“Mmm, look at that big fatass runnin'!” Another voice chuckled, getting the whole group of them to howl with laugher.
Elliot knew the evening was going to go downhill quickly. He couldn’t believe he had only managed to get a quarter mile from the stadium before Anthony's posse found him. Usually he could time it right where they would never cross paths. But not tonight. Regret for going to the game in the first place began settling in. “Go away, please go away…” the lynx whispered under his breath as he hurried along, his bottom-heavy body going as quickly as he could make it.
The sound of multiple sets of footfalls echoed in the open valley of the campus, making Elliot panic. Try as he might to get away, he felt someone soon grab his backpack and yank him back. A kick to his wide backside then sent him reeling forward and down to the sidewalk. He felt the wind get knocked out of him as he landed heavily on his hyper-sized manhood, his arms scraping the concrete as he did the best he could to ease his fall.
“Let's see what he's got in here…”
The lynx felt his pack get wrenched from his arm as his futile attempt to get it back were swatted away.
“Lyle. Benny. Turn this fatass around so he can watch me,” Anthony commanded as he began to unzip the backpack.
Elliot felt hands gruffly grab under his shoulders and whip him around. His head spun as he looked up fearfully at an enemy he knew too well. Staring down at him with contempt and derision was Anthony, a ruthless and rotten hippopotamus that easily towered over him by an additional foot in height. Strapped with muscle and a gut that could total a car on impact, it didn’t take many too long to realize he was never one to mess with.
And Elliot just happened to be one of his favorite punching bags, right near the top of his list.
“Textbook…a folder, a stupid calculator…” the hippo groaned unamusingly, as with each item he picked up, he tossed over his shoulder to the ground.
Held back and confined, the lynx watched in gut-wrenching helplessness as his belongings clunked and clattered with the concrete. But as he heard Anthony whistle, he looked up. His heart sank.
“Damn, well this is nice, hehe.” In his hand was his camera—professional grade. One of Elliot's prized possessions that he had worked an entire summer to afford. Swinging his arm back, he went to toss it.
“No!”
The two holding the furry hyper grunted and lurched forward as he cried out, trying to lunge for it.
“Hehe…oh, so is this important to you?” the hippo grinned devilishly. Toying with the young sophomore he let the device hang from its shoulder strap, swinging it around carelessly. “Wouldn’t want me to…drop it, would you?”
Elliot let out a pitiful yelp as he saw him swirl his camera around, the lens and body narrowly missing the sidewalk on several of the revolutions.
“Please! Stop!”
Anthony flung the camera up and caught it, his head snapping down to stare darkly at him.
“Me, stop? All of you homos are flooding this stupid campus… You stop, and Get. The. Fuck. Out!” the hippo seethed as he threw down his hand with such force, the camera smashed with the concrete.
Elliot felt his body tense up as glass and plastic alike splintered off in every direction, his expensive camera practically obliterated and fractured. But he had no time to react when a fist was driven right into the side of his face, his black rimmed glasses flying off his head.
“Maybe that will be enough to keep you away!” Anthony growled as he stood back up from his powerful punch, adjusting the sleeves of his jacket. “And maybe this will make you think twice before using that dick of yours again too!”
The lynx felt the mind-splitting agony of a massive kick hitting square against his balls, his lungs gasping. His hands writhed, trying to break free, anything to protect himself from any further torture.
“You’re gonna regret seeing me, just like every other time…” Anthony hissed as he picked up Elliot's chin, fresh blood dripping down his fur along a cut near his temple. “Don’t let it happen again.”
The lynx cringed as the hippo spat in his face before nodding to his two pals that it was time to go. Feeling the firm grip loosen and pull away, Elliot fell limply to the ground.
As he heard them walk away laughing, his eyes welled with tears as he laid there defeated and hurt. He reached out shakily and picked up a piece of his camera, cradling it in his paw before letting it fall away. Just looking at each broken piece solidified his fear of losing everything. With no camera, he was certain he'd lose his campus photographer position. It had been one of the best ways for him to get involved and express creativity, and now, without it, he wasn’t sure what to do.
After a time of collecting all of his scattered belongings, the bruised and bleeding lynx gingerly got to his feet, his head pounding with pain. He zipped up his sweatshirt and covered up his face with his hood as he slowly made his way back to his dorm room.
“El? What happened to you?!”
The minute Elliot walked in the room, his roommate, Gillian, had noticed the rough condition he was in. The lanky elk got up from his desk and rushed over, worry in his eyes.
The lynx just stood there, not wanting to respond. From his walk back, the right side of his hood had become a deep red color, the fur on the side of his face caked in dried blood. He didn't even want to know how the rest of his body looked from under his clothes.
Gillian closed and locked the door, turning around to eye his friend with concern. Reaching up, he slowly drew back the hood, gasping as it fell back onto Elliot's shoulders.
“Oh my gosh…Elliot…”
The lynx stepped past him as he took his pack off and placed it on his desk dejectedly, the clamor of glass being heard. He jumped when he felt a hand on his arm.
“You…can tell me after, but let me check your forehead, ok? You're bleeding a lot.”
There was no use arguing. As a med student, Gillian wasn’t going to rest until he knew he was alright. Letting out a troubled sigh, Elliot nodded and slipped off his hoodie and glasses.
“Shirt too.”
The lynx hesitated but did as he was told. Grimacing, he pulled off his shirt to reveal his furred torso. Lean and somewhat toned, it starkly contrasted the immensely wide set of hips and thighs the guy had. With his upper body now bare, Elliot saw that both his forearms and one of his elbows was matted with blood and scraped too.
Gillian remained quiet as he began his work. Taking out a large toolbox looking container from his closet, he opened it up to reveal all sorts of medical supplies. It took some time, but eventually each one of his wounds was cleaned, stitched, and bandaged.
“Thanks Gill, I really appreciate this.”
The elk looked up and smiled, his holiday sweater doing what it could to cheer up the guy's mood too. “Anywhere else?”
His hands had been subtly rubbing his sore bulge, but not enough for his roommate not to notice.
“Drop the pants.”
“But—”
Gillian rolled his eyes and sighed. “Fynn and I have been together for like four years, Elliot. If you think seeing your dick is going to change anything, you can relax.”
The lynx looked down at his tight skinny jeans and glanced at his friend. “Yeah I know...” He cracked the slightest of smiles, the first of which since being back in the room. “You and Fynn are like the cutest couple by the way.” Standing up, he began the difficult process of peeling off his jeans, leaving him in his tightly packed boxers.
“And Fynn’s got enough for me to play with, so you can save yours for that special guy,” the elk winked. He noticed the lynx tense up and chuckled. “Oh, don’t worry. I know about that Nate guy and how much you can’t keep your eyes off of him, hehe.”
Elliot felt his face heat up as the name was mentioned, his mind filling with mental images of the big tiger. He gasped when he felt Gill pulling down the waistband of his boxers.
“Oh quit being so modest. Just let me take a look,” Gill tisked, laughing silently. “I’m not gonna try anything. I’m just making sure you haven’t hurt this big thing is all. I noticed you rubbing it a lot while I was stitching up your temple.”
The lynx's shoulders relaxed as he allowed the guy to pull down his boxers, revealing his hefty bulge. The minute he saw the elk’s eyes widen he tensed up.
“I’ll get some ice for this…but oh my gosh…” Gill reached out and put his palm on the dinner plate sized bruise on the right side of his balls. “Elliot…who did this to you?”
The hyper flinched at the touch of his tender skin, but his head dropped as he stepped back to sit down in a chair by his desk. He flinched a bit as the spot where he had been kicked from behind felt sore against the chair too. “…Anthony.”
The elk growled as he stood up with a start. “Him?! That fat, sadistic hippo?” He reached up and grabbed his antlers, a mannerism he was accustomed to doing if he was stressed or angry. The several ringed piercings on the right side of his antlers clunked with his dramatics. “What is his deal? Seriously, th-this is assault! You practically look like you got jumped!”
Elliot sighed and looked to the floor conflicted. He deeply appreciated the support, gut it did little to lift his spirits. “I want to report him, but I have no proof.” He scooped up his backpack and unzipped it, pulling out a chunk of his camera.
“No way…”
The lynx nodded somberly, his pointed ears drooping. He looked it over in his palm before handing it to Gill.
“Please tell me he didn’t shred your SD card.”
Elliot’s eyes widened as he dove his hand back into the bag. He had completely forgotten about that. Even the slightest glimmer of hope of his photos being saved would make the loss of his camera sting less. It took a bit of shuffling but he eventually found the piece of the body and put it on his desk.
“It looks intact…” he said quietly as he concentrated on pulling the card out. The tiny plastic thing popped out, unscathed. Thinking quickly, he grabbed his laptop from the corner of the desk and opened it up.
While he waited for his computer to boot up, Elliot put his clothes back on. Gill had fashioned up an ice pack for him and insisted he leave it on his bruised bulge for a while. The two of them soon found themselves peering at the assorted photos on the screen before him.
“Well this makes me feel better.”
“Yeah,” the elk smiled, wrapping his arm around his roommate’s shoulder, yet sighed. “You’ll have to see if you can get a replacement. Never know what the company might say.”
“True,” Elliot shrugged, scrolling through the hundreds of pictures he had until he reached the end of the list.”
“W-Waaaaait!” Gill pushed his snout into the screen as he leaned himself forward. “No you didn’t! You took pictures of him! And soooo much more too!”
Elliot's hand froze for a second as he realized what he meant, blush flooding his face. “I… I was just taking them for the collegiate website.”
Gill drew back and smirked, his finger pressing into one of the image thumbnails. “Oh please. A zoomed in shot of just Nate? Several, may I add?”
“He made the game winning sack! He helped guarantee a win!” Elliot countered defensively, yet he knew this was going to be a losing battle. Especially when Gill quickly clicked on one of the pictures to enlarge it.
“He sure has that game winning sack, is what I think you meant.”
The lynx couldn’t find words as an image of Nathan came up—or more specifically a zoomed in shot of the tiger’s muscular body as his huge hyper bulge was completely flattening the quarterback.
“I can tell why you like him.”
Elliot frowned as he looked at the elk. “That's not why I like him… I mean, I do like how he looks, ok, but I’m sure—”
“El, relax,” Gill sighed. “I meant it as though I know what you like about a guy. You’ve told me before how you like muscular guys, like the height difference, pack a biiiig package—”
The lynx punched him in the arm.
“Alright, alright, sorry.”
The rolling of the eyes he received let him continue, though his smart tone softened. “You’re a guy that wants someone to protect you, I can see that. And someone you know you can be yourself around.”
Elliot nodded, bringing his hand up to touch his stitched forehead. “It’s not like I’m helpless…it’s more like I wish people would stop thinking I am. I dunno, it’s that thing where you can feel confident as you are when you know you've got someone that likes you for who you are too.”
“And you think he'll be like that?” Gill asked curiously with a hopeful tone. “Be optimistic for sure, but you have to realize he might not be gay you know. I just don’t want you to get hurt if it doesn’t work out.”
“I’m prepared for that. The least I can do is hope though,” he replied with a small smile, taking a final look at the picture before closing his laptop.
*a week or so later*
As detrimental as the initial loss of his camera felt, that event paved a way forward for Elliot that he hadn't anticipated. His sorrowful tale was heard out by the surprisingly empathetic Campus Newsletter director, earning him the chance to be ordered a new camera free of charge, provided he maintain his efforts of seeking out quality content as he had faithfully been doing.
For the duration of his time without access to a camera, he was tasked with doing in-person interviews and notetaking. While initially not his forte, a certain assignment that had just been given to him seemed too crazy to be true.
“Elliot, I want you to go to the post-game questioning for Friday's first play-off game,” the director told him as the team of students were discussing. “Sydney can handle photography in the meantime, but since you have a knack and a know-how about football, I’ll give you the opportunity to talk to some of the players. Up for it?”
The lynx perked up immediately at the offer, not thinking that would ever be asked of him. “Sure! Put me down for that!” he turned to give a thumbs up to Sydney.
“Excellent,” the director nodded. “Love the enthusiasm! Be sure to hone those questions and make the players excited to retell the game.”
“Will do, thanks!” Elliot agreed. As the team was dismissed shortly thereafter, the eager hyper got right to work hashing out all he planned to talk about. And in the back of his mind he couldn’t help but fell this could be his opportunity to meet Nathan in person.
Friday's game had been sold out ever since the region learned of the college's leading record. And every spectator knew they were in for a great game as they sat gripping the edges of their seats. For every touchdown and reception made by the opponents, the Knights were there to return the favor and then some with displays of the best defense the crowd had seen all season. In the midst of that crowd, Elliot was there cheering on his team while doing his best to write down every bit of exciting detail the game provided.
“Hey Sydney, I’m gonna go head down to the sidelines. The fourth quarter is almost over,” the lynx called to his friend.
“Alright,” she called back, peeking her head out from behind the tripod she was at. “This game's been awesome so far! I’ve got more than enough shots. See you tomorrow!”
With that farewell, he rushed down to the main concourse level and out onto the field. The moment seemed surreal as he walked onto the sideline, the atmosphere alive with activity and adrenaline. Continuing to furiously document, Elliot was able to see the game to the end as the Krover defense held out to win a narrow victory.
As the winning chants and peppy spirit slowly subsided, the lynx was able to land an interview with the quarterback and one of the running backs that was able to rush in two touchdowns. Once the field filtered out, Elliot scanned the team bench and felt himself catch his breath.
Walking off the field and toward the locker room was Nathan Beckwith along with a fellow lineman. He swallowed the nervous lump in his throat and rushed up to meet him.
“Excuse me! Nathan Beckwith?”
The Siberian tiger stopped and turned to his rhino teammate nodding to the hall in front of them before turning fully around in search of who called his name.
“Yep, that's me.”
The deep baritone voice added to his ominous size and presence, making the shy lynx pause there for a moment. Up close was so much more real than the pictures he had taken. Pushing down the desire to just stand there admiring the guy, he stepped forward.
“Hi! Name's Elliot. I’m with the collegiate newsletter team and was just wondering if you have time to answer some questions? Want to make sure I have every side of the game covered!”
Nate shrugged and nodded, smiling. “Sure, fine with me. Not too often I'm one to get asked.”
“Here's your chance then, plus I always feel that every player on the team has a critical role,” Elliot replied back. “So, I guess first things first. A little description of yourself?”
“Well, I'm Nathan Beckwith, I’m a junior, play defensive end, 7’ 3”, 358 pounds, and I'll break any tackle to try and get a fumble or a sack for the team,” the tiger stated proudly.
“Wow! For such a big guy you sure are nimble on your feet, hehe,” the lynx chuckled admirably as he wrote down a few notes. “The two sacks you got today were game-changers!”
Nathan waved it off modestly but smiled nonetheless. “With a lot of me to throw around, I've got momentum on my side that helps me break through the line and chase down that QB.”
Elliot noticed him shift on his heels back and forth a little, swinging his massive bulge along with him. It was impossible for him not to find himself staring at it.
“And I'm not going to lie, but I love using this thing to just plow right through people,” the tiger continued as he patted the side of his balls, having seen the lynx eying it with interest. “Gotta use weight distribution to your advantage, right?”
“Sure do!” Elliot nodded with a laugh to hide his nerves. “I'm sure they never expect it when they get hit by that.”
The tiger’s smile widened a bit more and chuckled along with the lynx. “Got more questions?”
Being brought back on track helped him refrain from his staring for the moment. “Yeah. So how did getting that interception in the third quarter feel?”
“Oh, that was awesome!” Nate grinned from ear to ear as he fist-bumped the air. “I can't believe I even caught that!”
Elliot watched excitedly as the player reenacted himself tipping the low pass from the quarterback and getting a hold of it. “Second one ever?”
“Nope! First one since joining the team,” the tiger corrected. “Even if I only managed to get eight yards before I was tackled, it felt so unreal being able to rush the ball like that.”
“And those eight yards got us that much closer,” the lynx assured him. “Started off a drive that won us a touchdown, so that's not bad at all!” Elliot was about to ask another question when the head coach walked by a moment later, waving for his remaining players to get to the locker room.
“Sorry, I can't stay longer to chat about the game,” Nate shrugged as he turned to look at the coach walking off and then back to Elliot. “Thanks for the talk.”
“Totally fine, I appreciate the time, thank you.” He watched as the tiger went to turn around but paused.
“You've got a cute ass by the way.”
Elliot felt his face turn red in a conflicted mess of embarrassment as Nate gave him a wink and walked away without another word. At a loss for words he could sense his mind racing with so many hypotheticals and hopes of what that comment could imply. Lost in a daydream, he bided his time collecting and organizing his notes from his questioning sessions and eventually made his way off the field and out toward the entrance of the stadium. He could feel a bounce in his step with how giddy he felt.
…that is until the one and only problem decided to pay him a visit yet again.
“Better start runnin' fatass. You didn’t listen to what I said before…”
The happiness Elliot felt faltered as a wave of fear swept through him. Off in the distance he could see the hippo stalking slowly towards him with his two friends in tow. Taking an unsteady step back the lynx looked behind himself at the stadium a ways away. Turning on his heels he made a break for the building.
He heard running from behind him as Lyle, unfortunately for him being a cheetah, closed the gap between them quickly. Within seconds he was practically on him.
“Time to pounce!”
The lynx felt the brunt force of Lyle ram into him as he threw him forward into the ground. Just like before he felt his bulge smash into the concrete as he tried to protect his head.
“Yeah!” Anthony called out as he approached. “Pin him down!”
Try as he might to move, the cheetah had a good grip of his legs, holding him down. Dread filled him as he saw the contempt on the hippo's face as he came into view.
“Must be hard to live like you do…” he snorted, crossing his arms over his coat. “Can’t understand what the heck is wrong with you.” He shook his head with mock concern.
“Why do you have to hate me so much, please I—”
Elliot felt the hippo's palm hold the top of his head quickly as he bent down, pressing it into the ground painfully.
“Because your disease is making the rest of the world—” Anthony's head snapped up glaring at his friends. “Why are you two backing off, hold him dow—!!!”
Elliot felt the pressure on his head lift off as he craned his neck to see the hippo thrashing and swearing. Behind him though, appeared an ominous figure shrouded in the darkness of the shadow made from the pale lamppost beyond.
“And you wonder why no one likes people like you.”
It was Nathan! Standing there towering over everyone was the big tiger, clutching a fistful of Anthony's coat as he held him a foot off the ground.
“Get your hands off me you freak!”
The football player shrugged and more or less didn’t listen. Looking down at Elliot his eyes grew concerned. “This idiot causing you trouble?”
The lynx was worried to say anything but nodded silently.
“Well in that case, I’ll return the favor.” The tiger held his grip easily even for as heavy as Anthony was while he kicked and waved his arms continuously. Rearing his arm back, he threw down the guy into the ground, following up by thrusting his gigantic manhood on top of him before he could move away.
“Ngggahh! Fuck you!” the hippo cussed as his body squashed into the ground under Nathan's weight. “Get him off me guys!
With one serious look from the Siberian tiger, Anthony's pals backed away, intimidated. “Just giving you a taste of what people like us deal with from assholes like you.” Stepping off from on top of him, the tiger gruffly picked up the hippo by the front of his collar and decked him right in the jaw. Hard.
Anthony fell to the ground in a heap as Nate let go. His head lolled a bit from the blow, fresh blood dripping from his lip and cheek as he sat there in a daze. The bravado he once had had faded, a dumbfounded look on his face.
Nathan leaned in closely and scowled. “If I ever hear that you lay a finger on this guy again, or actually, anyone for that matter, I am going to send the entire defensive line after you. And trust me, it hurts a lot more without a uniform on.”
The hippo had lost all leverage he had and backed away like a coward, scrambling onto his feet. With a pitiful look to his friends, he turned and rushed off, holding his head as a price for his crime.
Nate looked on after them shaking his head, but soon focused his attention on Elliot, who was still on the ground. “You ok?”
“Yeah,” the lynx replied back softly. He saw Nate reach out a hand and took it gratefully as he was helped to his feet. “Thank you. Thank you so much for that.”
Nate shrugged but accepted the gratitude. “No, problem, just wanted to be sure. But man…that guy has some serious judgmental problems.”
Elliot sighed, the episode from last week replaying in his mind. “Yeah, I know. This…isn't the first time this has happened.”
Nate's eyes widened. “He’s done this to you before?” His expression fell as Elliot nodded.
“See this?” the lynx pointed to his forehead which had yet to fully heal, also showing the palms of his hands. “Not much I could do being outnumbered…”
The football player exhaled heavily. “Yeah, that's not ok in my book. I'm gonna punch harder for sure if I see him again.” He flexed his shoulders and let out another breath. “Anyway, you want me to walk you back to your dorm, or are you good?”
“If you want to, I don't mind,” Elliott replied, though with a bit more enthusiasm in his voice.
Nate cracked a small smile and nodded. “Ok, lead the way.”
The coincidental encounter seemed to be enough of a conversation starter as the two headed down to the dorms. As if continuing where they left off at the post-game interview, Elliot was eager to learn more about Nate as they talked the entire walk back. In his mind he knew this was all happening so quickly—the comment, the game, the interview, coming to save the day, and now this? As cliché as it seemed, he was liking how things were unfolding. He hoped that once he got to his room, saying goodbye there wouldn’t be the last time he saw him.
As the two approached his door, Elliot felt a hand touch his wrist as he went to put his key in the lock. He paused and looked over at Nate, who seemed to be holding back something to say. After being quite talkative moments earlier, it was definitely unlike him.
“I…I hope I'm not being too forward about this, but I really do think you're cute.”
Elliot’s face blushed like crazy as he didn't respond right away. The conversation had been filled with a lot of getting to know each other and the like, but he hadn’t expected that. He smiled bashfully. “Heh, you too.”
Nate let out a relieved breath, stepping forward. In doing so he felt his bulge bump into Elliot's accidentally. “S-Sorry, heh can't help when this gets in the way…”
The lynx reached out and took hold of the tiger’s hand before he could step away, not wanting to miss the moment. “I don't mind it at all.” He loved the blush that formed on Nate's face soon after as he tugged him a bit closer.
“Could you tell? I mean about me?” the big guy asked hesitantly, though through a smile that was forming.
Elliot shook his head. “Not originally, but I always had my hopes that you were. And…well I have to admit when all you did was call my butt cute, I got super excited, hehe.”
Nathan chuckled, pulling Elliot closer still, reaching out to pat the lynx's wide bulbous hip. “I do like it a lot. Damn, for a guy you look so hot with an ass that big.”
“You do?” the lynx asked with a hopeful tone. “I’ve always thought it made me look weird cuz people made fun of me for it. Like I had this huge fat thing that would never stop jiggling every time I move…”
“You make it sound like that's a bad thing,” Nate giggled as he moved closer, wrapping his arms around Elliot. Slowly he slid his hands down the lynx's shoulders and out along the wide round contours of his soft backside. His bulge was practically enveloping the other’s as he pressed himself gently into him.
“You don't have to worry about that around me, cutie cat.”
Elliot had never felt he would find someone like Nate before and after such a roller coaster of events too. He could feel his heart pounding as this big tiger admired him, easing all of the doubts that had been holding him back. Compelled to do it, the lynx rose up on his toes and landed a kiss on Nate's lips.
The tiger didn't hesitate to kiss back, bringing the lynx against his chest as they locked lips.
There was an audible gasp next to them that made the two break apart quickly, turning their heads in unison to see that the door to Elliot's room had opened. Standing there bug-eyed jaw dropped was Gill.
“Nooooo way! Yes! Yes, yes, yes!” the elk was beside himself in disbelief and joy as he bounced up and down like a kid winning a cookie. His eyes were darting back and forth to each of them as he was soaking in the scene before him.
“Damn he really is hot in person, holy crap!” Gill praised, his energy exploding. “And you got to meet him and then talk to him and then this? You guys look adorable together! Ah, I can't, I can't!”
Elliot looked to Nate apologetically and then to his roommate rolling his eyes with a laugh. “Well, um, Nate, this is my roommate Gillian.”
The tiger shrugged with a smile, entertained by the guy and reached out his hand. “Nice to meet you. I'm Nate.”
Gill shook his hand animatedly. “Gill.” The elk stepped back a second later, giving his roommate a not-so-subtle wink. “I wanna hear all the details of how you two fell in love when I get back. Staying at Fynn’s tonight.” He smiled brightly before stepping out between them into the hallway. “And…try not to do anything too fun while I'm gone… ok?”
Elliot felt his face burn up as Nate looked at him awkwardly. “Nothing's going to happen, calm down. You act as if you want something to happen,” the lynx countered.
Gill shrugged and turned to head down the hall. “Maybe…maybe not. Guess I'll have to find out!” Within the few seconds that passed of silence, the elk was gone.
“Seems like a fun guy to be around.”
Elliot looked up at Nate with a chuckle, glad that it was the two of them again. “Yeah, he is. And he means well. Just… tends to be overly enthusiastic about things.”
“So, I take it he knew about me?” the tiger smiled, mentioning the obvious.
The lynx blushed and stepped through the open door before glancing back to him. “I…heh, may have talked about you to him a little bit…”
“Guess I’m flattered hehe, not that I mind.” Nate ducked in past the door frame and allowed Elliot to close the door.
“You don’t?” the lynx asked hopefully. He hadn't realized until now that his thought of just saying goodbye at the door was now moving gradually past that. “A-And I didn’t mean for you to have to come in. We don’t need to do anything or whatever. Gill was just being his obnoxious self.”
“I don't mind, really I don't,” Nate replied more affirmatively. He went quiet for a moment looking at the door. “I don't have any place to be. I wouldn't mind chilling here for a little bit, if that's ok with you.”
“Sure, yeah, that’s fine by me,” Elliot nodded, trying to contain his nerves. Looking for an idea he spotted his television. “Movie?”
“Works for me. Pick whatever you want.”
With just a small desk chair to choose from as something to sit on, the two ended up finding themselves sitting next to each other on Elliot's bed, much to both of their liking even if they wouldn’t admit it out loud.
The movie eventually began, but it was to them background noise as they found themselves talking through most of it. They learned so much about each other, all of which just made them both grow closer. They admittedly felt that they might be going a bit fast for just meeting one another, but threw that aside for the night.
By the time the end credits rolled down the screen, Elliot had fallen asleep, having found Nate's big bulge a nice plushy pillow to lay his head on. His hands had looped around it, hugging it gently.
“Well, that's a first for me, hehe,” the tiger whispered, taking up the remote next to him to turn off the TV. Pulling out his phone he checked the time, shrugging. With no place to be, he made the decision to stay the night and scooted ever so slightly down onto his side on the bed.
He felt the lynx move around a bit, but didn’t wake up, hugging him closer. Bringing the covers over the two of them, he smiled as he closed his eyes, happy to be where he was at. Definitely not how he thought his day would pan out, but certainly not in a bad way.

No worries, mate. Sometime is takes time to time the timey whimy story time... thing... yeah. Anyhow, most good hibernators do wake to eat, drink, be merry periodically so we are all glad to see new stuff from ya. Have a fun and merry holiday.

Yes, exactly that haha. The elusive understanding of how time works for stories.
But yeah, I have to admit (apologetically) for how inactive I've been this year, even besides writing stories.
And to you as well, have a Merry Christmas, and New Year's :3

Dude! Nothing to apologize for, you are posting to a free site. People are going to read it or not depending on what they ate for lunch that day. You post the stories you want to, at the time you want to for your own pleasure. Unless you are getting a ton of money to post and this is your living, do not apologize for any thing. The timey whimy thing is not important unless you make it so. I understand the feeling that you get for now doing anything for a bit but that is personal drive, not external. Keep up the good work, BC! I mean it.

I know I should have nothing to apologize for as I know it is all free and not for money. I guess it's just me and my hope to stay 'relevant' in the writing community on here. It's a self-made hardship, I know. I'll continue to write what I want and when I do, it's just that little part of me that wants to make sure I don't competely lose touch of the reader/watcher base on here. ^ ^;

Amen, BC. As long as you are doing, writing what you want to write, keep it up. Your tag had that writers block question and a good answer is "if you don't feel like working, don't". Keep having fun in your stories and we will have fun too.
