The giant tilts his head in confussion. "Was that a question? You were curious as to why what?"

She ducks her head nervously "w-why do you let people go?"

"Because, I'm not a monster. I don't eat people and I don't want to keep any as a slave."

she looks up at him debating weather or not she believed what he said to be true.

The giant sighs. "Why are you still here? Don't you want to be as far away from me as possible? Don't you think I'm some giant terrible monster?"

She looks up at him slowly....... "your kinder th-then the people back in that village" she says.

"You're not afraid of me?" the giant asks, stunned.

She looks up at him choosing her words carefully "..... I-it's not so much th-that I'm scared... It's more I-intimidated and the fact that I....I don't know you..." She says nervously.

He sighs. "I understand, but you're doing more than any 'sacrifice' has ever done. You're the first who hasn't run the first chance you got and you're talking to me." He blushes and bows his head lower so that he's pretty much looking at his toes. "Could I ask you something? You can decline if you want; I'd understand, but since the village chose to 'sacrifice' you, I'm guessing you have nowhere to go. Being so close to giant country is dangerous for humans all alone. I have plenty of room at my home for you. You could come home with me and I'll protect you. I... I could really use the company, but if you don't want to stay with a 300 foot tall giant you've just met, I'd understand." His voice sounds sad, nervous, and shy, all at the same time.

She grows very quiet.... 'a-am.... am I alone?' she asks in her head, she had a father across the country.. but, he was always away on a trip... but surely he would care that she was missing... wouldn't he?. she remembered her child hood, sitting alone by a window having a tea party... waiting desperately for her father to come play with her... but he never would. She realized then.. that she had always been alone.. from the day he had brought her home from the orphanage at age five. she slowly looks up at him..but did she really want to go along with this..? she had no Idea who he was.. or of his actions.... she bights her lip fretting silently.

He takes her silence as a sign that she doesn't want to go with him. The giant sighs and bows his head till he's only looking at his lap. "I understand." Tears well up and plummet onto his lap. "Who would ever want to be with a monster like me?"

Shock hit her like the noise of his tears...... Watching a giant cry........ Was like watching a grown man cry.. Only ten times worse....
She had to say something... But what? How could she possibly comfort him when she alone was dwarfed in every possible way by this guy?... She shook her head... Better to try and fail then to leave and never know. ".... I never said you were a monster" she manages to speak up a bit.... "... I was just thinking... About my family.." She tries to explain her previous long silence to him.

The giant sniffs and looks down at her with still sad brown eyes. "You have a family? Would you rather i take you to them?"

She looked a bit saddened by this ".... They... They aren't here... On this island I mean," she says quietly glancing down at her two feet.

When the giant makes it to the pole, he notices that she's already escaped from her ropes. Confused, he kneels down on one knee. He wonders, 'Why hasn't she run yet? Is she not frightened of me?' He continues to stare at her for quite a while allowing her to get a good sight of him. He's huge! Probably around three-hundred feet tall. His skin is tan and his muscles are lean from living in the forest by himself for years. She can see all this, because he's only wearing a fur loincloth and a sheathed knife on his belt. He studies her big brown eyes that are a lighter shade than his brown messy hair. Finally, he asks, "Why haven't you run?"

She stared up at him having auburn hair. Pale blue eyes that were almost silvery large plump pink lips. As she shivered a little bit hiding behind the pole softly. Before peeking out at him, "I'm curious...I also know that if I do you'll try and catch me anyways....So there's really no point..." She said having time to think about it while she was tied to the pole. Her eyes were strangely intelligent. "I've always wanted to meet a giant too though.." She said blushing as she ducked behind the pole once more.

Now the giant is thoroughly confused. "You've always wanted to meet a giant? Why? Don't you know what most giants do to humans? Didn't your parents teach you to fear my kind?"

"I know...." she said looking down a bit. "But I thought it might be interesting....you can eat me now if you want to I won't run..." She said sadly there wasn't fear in her voice anymore.

He sighs, depressed about how she still thinks he's going to eat her. "I don't eat humans."

"You don't?" She asked as she looked out from behind the pole again. She then began to smile going right up to him. "That's good, I really didn't think you were mean. Because of the way you acted towards me."

"If that's true, then you're the first human to think that of me. All you humans and all the sacrifices the village sent to me, thought I was a monster, even when I just freed them."

She looked up at him sadly, "I'm sorry they thought that about you. If it makes you feel better I really do think you're nice."

He looks down at her with a new feeling in his eyes, a more hopeful feeling. "You think I'm nice? Then you don't think I'm a monster? You're not afraid of me?"

"I'm not afraid of you, well um maybe a little bit. But that's all, and it's only because you're so big." She said giggling as she looked up at him.

"Then you're the first human to admit that." He smiles with teary eyes or joy. "Thank you, you don't realize how happy I am to know that one human doesn't think I'm a monster."

She blinked a bit noticing that he seemed to be crying. "Ah um you're welcome....most humans think I'm a freak anyways."

Shocked yet again, he asks, "Why would other humans call you a freak? You're not the one that's three-hundred feet tall."

"Because I prefer mythological creatures over people."

"Um, mythical creatures? We giants have our own country. Have humans forgotten that and think use only creatures of myth?"

"I suppose so..." she said looking up at him. "I meant mostly unicorns and dragons. Things like that have always fascinated me."

"Oh, well I can't really breathe fire or have a horn on my forehead."

"I know but still here you're very rare." She said as she stood on her toes to see him better. She was much to short though compared to him.

And he is massive, nearly three-hundred feet tall. "So, now that you've met a giant, what will you do next?"

"Why can't you go back home?"

"They...never accepted me....and I hoped that you would kill me in a way...So that I wouldn't have to go back to that hate."

"I can't let that happen to the only human that doesn't see me as a monster." He lowers his hand with his palm up for her to climb onto. "You're welcome to come with me and stay as long as you wish."

"Ah um thank you," she said blushing as she climbed onto it.

He's still a little surprised that she took up on his offer, even if she didn't think he was a monster and wanted to meet a giant. He stares with wide, disbelieving eyes. Even when he can feel her tiny hands and knees crawling against his skin causing a ticklish feeling on his skin and even when he can feel her miniscule weight, he still has troubles believing it's real. Being extra careful not to go too fast, he slowly stands up and lifts his hand level with his bare chest. He walks into the forest towards his home. "I'm sorry, we never properly introduced ourselves. My name is Tim."

"That's funny because my name's Tina," she said giggling as she looked up at Tim. Wondering why anyone would've thought he was a monster he was so nice.

He smiles. "That is funny. But think about it. Tina and Tim; those names seem to go pretty well with each other."

"Yes they do~" she said laughing a bit as she looked up at him. Wondering if it'd be alright for her to lean into his chest.

"Well, I'm glad to have met you, Tina. I didn't think I'd ever find a human that realizes I'm not some monster."

"Well, yes. Why else do you think that village keeps sending human sacrifices to me? It's because they don't understand I'm not a monster. They still think I'm some terrible beast that's going to destroy their village if they don't appease me with a sacrifice. I've tried going to the village and explaining everything, but they just scream and panic and attack."

"i'm really sorry about that Tim," she said as she looked at him. Her eyes going down as she looked at the ground. She remembered panicking about that too.

"You don't have to be sorry. I suppose it's only natural to be afraid of something much larger than yourself. But you've made up for it by being the first one to understand that I'm not evil."
