The Baal of the Flies...I really have to do some research on this particular cult to see if my theory is correct; I'm betting they did not burn their sacrifices, but let them rot on the altar for flies to devour! Ewwww!

Thanks! If it looks different from my normal style that's because it's an acrylic painting, no inking or photoshop colors.

Cool! I always found oils really tough to work with - and too messy for me to handle. Acrylics are the easiest paints to use if you are just trying to learn (or in my case - re-learn!) how to do traditional painting. Anyway I look forward to seeing your results.

ya I've used acrylics a lot in the past doing weird psychedelic emotional paintings, but I am just experimenting with different types of paint right now. So far I like the way oil looks and how thick it is but you are right it is EXTREMELY messy and it also takes forever to dry. If you do any more paintings I would love to see them !

if this was my piece i would call it beelzbug! but its not mine its yours and it is beautiful-urban legends--have you ever morphed animals and celebrities-i would love to see if you make some--so sad i wish i could fave yer whole gallery!!

Insects are my only passion rivaling monsters, and fly monsters have always been my favorite point at which the two so frequently cross. They just have great aesthetics, and you've captured that hairy, big-eyed weirdness perfectly. I'd totally frame this above a fireplace.

Aww, thanks, friend, I appreciate that! Yeah, it's true, this is one painting of mine that I've always been very proud of, which for some reason doesn't get many comments, and tends to get overlooked... I usually assume it's because this one doesn't have any half-naked girls in it? But maybe that's not it... Neither of my two most popular pics have naked girls in them... Who knows? There seems to be no pattern to what makes people like certain things and ignore others! It seems totally random. But anyway thanks for the compliment!
