Description
This started off as just a bored little sketch I didn't intend on finishing. I was thinking about the characters I'd created so far and I wondered how many of them were gay. So I drew them out in a line and... upon sketching them all I figured I may as well finish them. I'm not claiming these are amazing examples of representation (in fact I don't expect any of you to recognize even half of these characters since I haven't used them in any stories yet), but diverse representation is something I care about and maybe sharing this will help motivate me explore them in the future.Pippin: Probably my most recognizable character on this list. His whole concept is that he's a character who has gone everywhere and done everything to the point where his extraordinary and bizarre adventures are repetitive and boring to him. While he may have a girlfriend now, it shouldn't be surprising that Pippin has had many male partners in the past. Also he's in an open relationship, so who knows who he'll encounter in the future.
George: To the shock of absolutely no one, I'm sure, George is not straight. He's not exactly gay either. It's actually a little hard to categorize what George is because he's such a massive troll who gets off making people angry and uncomfortable. This makes it hard to trust anything he says.
Mr. Paulson: He's the current drama teacher at NLA (Northern Lights Academy) and a former globe-trotting archeologist/adventurer. While he's an old man now, he's still got a lot of life and energy. He's also been happily married to his husband for six years.
Rook: A former superhero who had to retire when he became diagnosed with schizophrenia. While his condition is manageable with medication and therapy, he works as a superhuman consultant for the police. His superpower lets him reconstruct the events of crimes scenes with his mind, making him a useful tool for police investigations.
Bree: She's the shy and awkward witch member on the Diago Chasers team. Bree has thoughts and feelings that aren't quite heteronormative, but due to some unfortunately traumatic events in her past, she has some real fears of intimacy that prevent her from exploring those feelings any further.
Ricmond: This is probably the first time I've posted a picture of Ricmond, so this is your first look. Ric is a vampire and a student at NLA. He's a witty, sophisticated artist and poet with a flair for the dramatic and the macabre. His boyfriend is Toby and they have a turbulent off again/on again relationship.
Toby: Much like Ric, this is Toby's debut. He's a fellow NLA student and a werewolf as well. He's an strong, athletic jock who likes competition. Due to the differences in their personalities, his relationship with Ric has been sweet, but turbulent.
