Frakking FINALLY! This took me forever! Why? Life and such... Anyways, I wanted to make an intro because there was literally no way for me to introduce Tamas and the 40k setting comic-bookwise using the source material. So yeah, these story elements are all me. I had to go with a minimalist intro because I don't know what is supposed to revealed in the future, and I didn't want to give too much away.
I really want to release Page 9 before the new year, so fingers crossed.

Why yes it is!
I discovered Machine Spirits: Digital Beings years ago while browsing WH40k crossovers on FanFiction.net. I was like "Wuh? A 40k/Digimon crossover? How would that work?" But it did work. Like, very well. (Seriously you should read it. I may be wearing rose colored glasses, but I still love it every time I read it.) As far as I am aware of it is literally the only WH40k/Digimon crossover that exists.
I asked the author if he'd accept a commission to continue the story. He said he wouldn't, but seeing drawings of his characters may motivate him to write more. So I have been illustrating it ever since.

huh, I may have to take you up on that and check it out Hopefully, your plan works, I know it motivated me to keep writing my little story.

Well it sort of worked. He has written one more chapter since I started the illustrations. But whatever, as long as he doesn't mind me drawing his characters, I won't mind drawing them.
Speaking of your story, If that's the case I may have to pull ahead your requests. Haha

While I got you here, what do you think of Tamas' in the first panel?
Sometimes when I look at it, it looks off. Other times it looks fine.

Hmm, he reminds me a bit of Tai from season 1 of Digimon. The design looks pretty good, but the trench coat seems to shrink as it gets closer to his feet. Other than that it's pretty good.

That's funny you say that about Tai, because I literally built Tamas design from his in-story description using Tai as a base. I'm actually trying to incorporate more of Takato from Tamers, since that's what inspired the story for the author. I don't think I'm succeeding.
I can see what you mean by the trench coat. I will have to keep that in mind when I go through each page for corrections.

Well, Tai and Takato are very different characters. Tai was more sporty and a leader while Takato was more nerdy and less aggressive for the most part. Design is merely a reflection of the characters actions. For example, Rune looks extremely fierce, but she's fluffy and sexy as well which reflects her personality of being aggressive towards those she doesn't know while being pleasant to her lover.
Glad I could help

Yes they are very different! That's why I'm trying to mix the two. This may just be my own inability to discern personalities of characters in stories, but I could not really put my finger on Tamas' design through his in-story characterization (outside his literal physical description of course). The best I could come up with was lazy foodie that can be quite obstinate.
Considering the majority of characters he's come across are xenos, I can't really determine how kind/caring he is either. My best guess is very, mainly due to Saldramon being influenced by the Salamanders Space Marine Chapter.
He is slightly craven, but doesn't have to be pushed far to reach that point were he's had enough. Once there he's a stand up, drag-out, tough guy were his implacability can really shine (for good or for ill).
Now that I think about it this is stuff I should probably discuss with the author. lol
Well, either way, what do you think?

lol, lazy obstinant foodie XD
Well, the author could probably tell you more about him than me, since I know next to none about Warhammer, though I am rather fluent when it comes to Digimon.

bugatik In reply to ThornWolf33 [2017-12-07 20:26:33 +0000 UTC]
I know right!
I'm more on the 40k side, but man do I like me some digimon.
I'm pretty sure the author is more digimon than 40k, so as someone who may be as digifluent as he is (or maybe more), do you think Tamas' current design fits what I had described if this were purely digimon?

ThornWolf33 In reply to bugatik [2017-12-07 20:31:08 +0000 UTC]
The design does fit pretty nicely with his character description, though the trench coat is normally reserved for darker heroes in my opinion. I'm only going off of what I have seen and what you have told me, so I can only say so much, but it fits pretty nicely into the overall theme. The goggles are a classic Digimon staple, but the combat boots make him look a bit militaristic.

bugatik In reply to ThornWolf33 [2017-12-07 21:00:24 +0000 UTC]
Well I'm certainly glad he looks like a digimon character.
The coat is supposed to be a mix of a regular jacket and a robe. As it is supposed to fit the aesthetic of a factory worker and 40k's Mechanicus. But yeah, it is essentially a straight-up trench coat, which I agree fits better with darker characters. But 40k is pretty grim and dark in itself, so you could use that to justify why an imperial child would wear it. Haha.
The boots are supposed to be work boot actually. Their design is literally based on an image I found googling work boots. Do you have an idea on how I can make them look less militaristic?

ThornWolf33 In reply to bugatik [2017-12-07 21:02:51 +0000 UTC]
Gotcha, as you can see, I can only give you an opinion from the Digimon side of things. If he's working in an underground bunker, a more militaristic approach would fit better as long as most of the workers were dressed in similar fashion.

bugatik In reply to ThornWolf33 [2017-12-08 01:20:47 +0000 UTC]
Hey, it's the digimon side I need help with.
It's more of a massively sprawling industrial complex, but yeah, the majority of the other manufactorum workers are dressed similarly. Even his little sister wears something close to it.
Thank you for the insight, and feel free to let me know about anything else.
